Darvish was removed from his start Wednesday against the Marlins due to left hamstring tightness, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish was pulled after three innings Wednesday, during which he allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out two batters. Manager Mike Shildt said the right-hander is undergoing imaging, and the Padres should offer an update on his status once the results come back.

Darvish (4-2) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish was done in by the long ball -- the Yankees teed off for four home runs against him, three of which came in the third inning. Prior to Friday, Darvish had allowed just two homers across his first nine starts of the season. It was a jarring end to his 24-inning scoreless streak, which coincided with a four-start winning streak. Even after this dud, the right-hander has a 3.04 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 51:14 K:BB over 53.1 innings across 10 starts. Darvish will look to keep the ball down in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Marlins.

Darvish (4-1) got the win over Atlanta on Sunday night, throwing seven shutout innings while allowing just two hits and a walk. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish continued his excellent run since returning from the injured list April 30 and is now up to 25 straight scoreless innings, having last given up a run April 14. He had one instance with facing runners in scoring position after a first inning double by Marcell Ozuna. He ended his night by retiring the last 13 batters he faced in order and generated a season-high nine strikeouts while getting 14 whiffs on 99 pitches. Darvish also picked up career win No. 200 and will take an excellent 2.08 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 46:13 K:BB into his next start, which lines up to be against the Yankees during a weekend series.

Darvish and the Padres will not play Saturday after their game in Atlanta was postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday. Darvish will be pushed back a day to start Sunday, which would also mean delaying Joe Musgrove's (elbow) return from the injured list to Monday.

Since returning, he's fired 10 shutout frames and dropped that number to 2.94 across seven starts. Darvish matched his season best with 15 swinging strikes, eight of which came via the slider. Darvish (1-1) grabbed a win over the Reds on Tuesday, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits in the outing. He struck three and did not walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish was finally able to pick up his first win of the season and help the Padres end a five-game losing streak. Tuesday was his first shutout effort since July 29 of last year. He was efficient, needing 70 pitches to get through five while inducing a bunch of weak contact. His strikeout numbers remain low in comparison to his career numbers, as he's now struck out three or fewer batters in three of his six starts so far. Still, Tuesday's outing was exactly what the Padres needed out of him, and he'll take a 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB into his next outing, which projects to be against the Cubs at the beginning of next week.

The Padres activated Darvish (neck) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Tuesday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander has been sidelined the past couple weeks with neck tightness, but he'll rejoin San Diego's rotation Tuesday after a minimum-length stay on the injured list. Darvish posted a 4.18 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB across 23.2 innings through his first five starts of the season, and he could have some minor workload limitations in his first outing back with the Friars.

Darvish (neck) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Reds, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish successfully fired a bullpen session Wednesday and will be activated from the IL when first eligible after missing time with neck tightness. He hasn't had his best stuff through his first five outings of the 2024 campaign, posting a 4.18 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 22 punchouts over 23.2 frames. Expect the Padres to officially activate Darvish closer to first pitch.

Darvish (neck) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish's bullpen session marked his first time throwing off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list April 17 with neck tightness. Padres manager Mike Shildt indicated that Darvish wasn't throwing with full effort, saying the right-hander "was on the gas, but didn't have it to the floor." Darvish will likely require at least one or two more bullpen sessions before progressing to facing hitters and then perhaps heading out on a rehab assignment. There's no clear timeline yet for his return to San Diego's rotation.
