Almonte was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, Nick Groke of The Athletic Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Almonte will head back to the minors to free up a roster spot for Chris Rusin (heel), who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old Almonte owns a pristine 1.00 ERA across seven appearances (9.0 innings) for the big club this season, so he should be back in the majors once additional bullpen help is needed.

Almonte was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Almonte has been living out of a suitcase lately with three moves in four days. He was called up Thursday, sent down Saturday and brought right back up Sunday. This time, he'll be replacing Bryan Shaw, who hit the disabled list with a calf strain. Almonte appeared twice for the Rockies this season, allowing a pair of unearned runs over two innings.

Almonte was optioned back to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Almonte appeared in each of the past two days for the Rockies after being called up earlier this week. During those contests, he allowed two runs (none earned) off one hit and one walk while striking out one across two innings of relief. Look for him to return to Colorado when the club needs a replenishment of bullpen arms.

Almonte was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Almonte will offer a fresh arm out of the Rockies' bullpen after manager Bud Black deployed six relievers in Wednesday's 10-8 win. The right-hander was scheduled to start for the Isotopes on Thursday, so he'll be available to pitch multiple innings out of the bullpen if necessary. He posted a 6.27 ERA and 22:12 K:BB across nine starts (33 innings) with Albuquerque prior to earning a promotion. Ryan McMahon was sent to the minors in a corresponding roster move.

Almonte is back in action with Triple-A Albuquerque after missing a little over two weeks with a nerve issue in his throwing elbow.
EDGE Analysis
He logged one inning (giving up one run) on April 22, and then gave up three runs over five frames on April 29, returning to a starter's workload. Almonte would be slightly interesting if he were in a different organization, but his shaky command/control paired with a future home of Coors Field limits the intrigue in 2018, even if he gets a call later this season.

Almonte was removed from his Opening Day start with Triple-A Albuquerque due to a nerve problem in his right elbow, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Elbow injuries are always a bit concerning, but big-league manager Bud Black says there's no need to worry. Almonte has dealt with this problem before and is only expected to miss just a few starts. No firm timetable for his return has been released at this point, but it seems like his best-case scenario is an early May return.

Almonte was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Almonte was in the mix for an Opening Day roster spot, but a 7.82 ERA across 12.2 Cactus League innings prompted the Rockies to send him back to the minors for some more seasoning. The 23-year-old split time between the Isotopes and Double-A Hartford in 2017, posting a combined 2.91 ERA across 111.1 innings. He could make his major-league debut at some point in 2018 if he holds his own at Triple-A to open the year.

Almonte has fired off 35.1 innings in 7 starts with an ERA of 1.78 for Double-A Hartford this season.
EDGE Analysis
After pitching well in the Rockies' spring training, Almonte took his strong showings and transferred them to his Double-A starts. His ERA is down this year from the 3.00 it was at last season for Hartford, and he's holding batters to a .198 average. Almonte has shown that he'll be ready for Triple-A sometime soon, and his status on the 40-man roster makes him a candidate for the big league roster sometime this year too.

Almonte was reassigned to minor league camp Monday, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
A middle-level prospect in the Rockies system, Almonte held his own against major league hitters this spring, striking out five while allowing just one run in four innings pitched. He hasn't pitched a game above Double-A yet in his career, though, so he'll head back to the minors for more seasoning before potentially reappearing in the big leagues later in the season.

Almonte was added to Colorado's 40-man roster Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Almonte impressed as a starter as he progressed through the Rockies system in 2016, most recently posting a 3.00 ERA in five starts with Double-A Hartford. The 22-year-old's mid- to upper-90s fastball and hard slider may make him more of a reliever going forward, which actually could help him move up the organizational ladder quickly if he can translate his success to the upper levels of the minor leagues. That being said, he'll likely spend a good chunk of time with Double-A Hartford and/or Triple-A Albuquerque in 2017 as he gears up for big league hitters.
