The Miami Marlins acquired infielder Xavier Edwards from the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Miami acquired Edwards and relief pitcher JT Chargois for right-handed pitching prospects Marcus Johnson and Santiago Suarez in a deal between the two clubs. Able to play second base, shortstop and third base, Edwards hit .246 with a .328 on-base percentage, five home runs and seven stolen bases in 400 plate appearances for Tampa Bay's Triple-A affiliate during the 2023 season.
