Will Venable went 3-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win against the Reds.
A promising night for a batter still sitting on a terrible .290 on-base percentage. Venable is batting only .245, but he's been a cheap source of speed and power in NL-only leagues. He's on pace for 18 homers and 14 steals in 423 at-bats.

Will Venable (hamstring) is expected back in the lineup on Thursday.
Venable probably could have started Wednesday if he needed to, but with the Red Sox throwing left Jon Lester, it made sense to give him one more day. "Will's doing much better, he's much improved," said Padres manager Bud Black Wednesday. "You might see him tonight in some capacity."

Will Venable went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in San Diego's 6-5 win against Atlanta on Monday night.
San Diego's crowded outfield coupled with Venable's difficulty in reaching base have cost the 30-year-old Princeton product at-bats, but he still offers the elusive speed/power combination that salivates fantasy proprietors. Venable is batting just .232 (with a .288 OBP), but has eight homers and nine steals in 164 at-bats. That's a nice player to have in NL-only formats.

Will Venable singled in Chris Denorfia in the bottom of the 10th to give the Padres a 3-2 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.
Venable didn't start against the lefty in Joe Saunders, but he stayed in after pinch-running for Yasmani Grandal and picked up the hit in this first at-bat. He had been in a 2-for-17 slump over the previous eight days.

Will Venable smashed his fifth home run of the season in Friday's loss to the Rays.
The first inning blast off Alex Cobb was his only hit in four trips on the evening. He also swiped a pair of bases and scored a run on a balk, after reaching on a strikeout in the third inning. He's always possessed a dazzling combination of power and speed, which has been on display in the early part of the season, as he's hitting .244/.316/.465 with five bombs and seven stolen bases.

Will Venable went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI versus the Marlins on Tuesday.
Venable has had a quiet season so far, but with homers in back-to-back starts, maybe he's getting it turned around. It hasn't helped matters that the Padres have faced a ton of lefties lately, which has resulted in him coming off the bench more often than not.

Will Venable went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers.
He also drew two walks and stole a base, filling up the box score nicely. Venable came into the game with just two base knocks in his first 15 at-bats, so it was a nice breakout showing. Nick Hundley also went deep for the Pads.

Will Venable connected for his third home run of the spring in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Indians.
He walked in his only other plate appearance. Venable's fantasy appeal is a bit complicated since he's set to platoon with Chris Denorfia in right field again, but he should still get the majority of the at-bats. Coming off nine home runs and 24 stolen bases last season, there could be more upside on the way this year now that the fences have moved in at PETCO Park.
