Whit Merrifield Playing Monday rotoballer.com Mon 6/18/18 1:43 PM

Kansas City Royals second baseman Whit Merrifield (knee) is in the starting lineup on Monday as the team's designated hitter. Merrifield left Sunday's game after he fouled a ball off of his knee with what the team called a bruise. He was called day-to-day at the time and is apparently feeling fine as he is back batting leadoff on Monday. Merrifield's fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief and safely plug him back into those starting lineups.

Whit Merrifield Fitting In With Shifts rotoballer.com Wed 4/4/18 1:50 PM

The Kansas City Royals picked up their first win on Tuesday partially thanks to some nifty defense by second baseman Whit Merrifield. Merrifield was able to erase a baserunner by turning a slick double play due to his positioning in a shift, something new for the Royals. Old-school manager Ned Yost has been one of the slowest managers in the league to adopt the shifting approach on defense, but it's already starting to pay dividends. [...]

BatFlip Crazy: Bold Predictions for 2018 batflipcrazy.com Wed 3/28/18 9:25 AM

Expectation turn quickly in baseball. If you told me at the beginning of last season I’d be writing my bold predictions for 2018 about Whit Merrifield hitting 25 home runs and stealing 40 bases, I’d have told you he has a better chance of being the King of Ideal Launch Angles (more on that later).
