Rule 5 pick Wei-Chung Wang gave up five runs and two homers in two-thirds of an inning before being pulled from Monday's game against the Braves. Wang couldn't even get through his inning; he threw 40 pitches in getting two outs and the Brewers weren't going to extend him any longer. Instead, they turned to Lyle Overbay to get the final out of the bottom of the eighth, which he did. At this point, the Brewers have to either make up an injury for Wang or let him go. Wang might be a useful pitcher someday, but he'd be in high-A ball for the Pirates right now if not for his status as a Rule 5 pick.

The Brewers are considering their options with Wei-Chung Wang. Wang, a Rule 5 draft pick, would need to be offered back to the Pirates for $25,000 if the team decided to demote him. The decision will be based largely on need -- after playing two extra-innings games and dealing with Matt Garza's injury-shortened start over the last three days, the bullpen needs an extra arm heading into the weekend. Through six innings this year, the 22-year-old has a 15.00 ERA and 2.50 WHIP.

Making his second appearance with the Brewers already down 5-2, Wei-Chung Wang gave up six runs and two homers in his inning of work Thursday against the Pirates. Wang was plucked out of the Pirates system in December's Rule 5 draft and is trying to hand in the majors after spending last year in Rookie ball. It's going to be a lot tougher for the Brewers to carry him all year, essentially leaving them with a 24-man roster, if they continue to set the pace in the NL Central.

Wei-Chung Wang has won a spot in the Brewers' bullpen. Wang, 21, was selected from the Pirates in December's Rule 5 Draft. The Taiwanese southpaw has impressed this spring by posting a 2.45 ERA and 6/0 K/BB ratio over 11 innings.
