Vladimir Guerrero is likely headed to the disabled list after he reported no improvement with his hand Saturday. Vlad was unable to get through batting practice Friday and didn't even try to swing Saturday because of the pain. He has not been told that he's going on the DL, but it's safe to assume at this point that's where he's headed. He's been unable to play since being hit on the hand by a pitch Sunday, which caused a small fracture.

Vladimir Guerrero (hand) remained out of the lineup Saturday. The Orioles planned to make a decision on whether or not to place him on the DL based on how he felt when he showed up Saturday, so perhaps the fact they haven't made a move yet is a good sign. But, at the very least, he'll sit out a third straight game. We should have another update on Vlad's status later Saturday.

The Orioles will make a decision on what to do with Vladimir Guerrero (hand) after finding out how he feels when he gets to the ballpark Saturday. Guerrero has a small fracture in his right hand and was unable to make it through batting practice Friday. It would be a surprise if he doesn't wind up on the disabled list, but we should know more before long. Matt Angle and Josh Bell are candidates to be called up from Triple-A Norfolk to take Vlad's spot on the roster.

Vladimir Guerrero (hand) couldn't make it through batting practice Friday. Guerrero is still feeling pain after X-rays revealed a small fracture in his right hand. He will likely be placed on the disabled list if his condition does not improve in the next 24-48 hours. Nolan Reimold will serve as the designated hitter Friday night while Felix Pie plays left.

An X-ray revealed a small fracture in Vladimir Guerrero's right hand. No wonder he was still sore Thursday and unable to play. Initial X-rays ruled out a break, but another one was taken Thursday night that revealed the small "crack" in the hand. Vlad will try to play through the ailment, but it's certainly something that could wind up forcing him to the disabled list.

Vladimir Guerrero might undergo more tests on his sore right hand. Vlad was hit on the hand by a pitch in the final game before the All-Star break, and although initial X-rays were negative, ongoing soreness kept him from returning to the lineup Thursday. "When you're dealing with that many small bones in that area, there's always concern that something might be there that didn't show up," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. Vlad batted .279 with seven homers and 31 RBI in the first half.

Vladimir Guerrero is not in Thursday's lineup against the Indians. The All-Star break has surely given him enough time to rest, though we haven't heard anything about an injury. Matt Wieters will serve as the designated hitter Thursday while Craig Tatum starts behind the plate.

No disabled list stints are expected for Mark Reynolds or Vladimir Guerrero after they were hit by pitches on Sunday. Reynolds left Sunday's game in the third inning after being hit on the right hand by a Kyle Weiland pitch and Guerrero exited after Weiland plunked him in the fifth inning. Both Guerrero and Reynolds were initially diagnosed with hand contusions. Four people were ejected during the game, including Weiland, Terry Francona, Mike Gonzalez and Buck Showalter. No announcement has come on suspensions, but that could come Wednesday. The Orioles play Cleveland Thursday.

Vladimir Guerrero left Sunday's game with a right hand contusion. In a contentious game before the All-Star break, Kevin Weiland plunked Vlad in the fifth inning and was ejected along with his manager Terry Francona. One inning later, Orioles reliever Mike Gonzalez was tossed for throwing behind David Ortiz. Baltimore's Manager Buck Showalter was also told to hit the showers. As for Gurerro, he should be able to rest his hand with several off days coming up.
