Wells (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and zero walks over five innings against the Yankees. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Wells was lights out through three innings, but he allowed a leadoff double to Aaron Judge and an RBI single to Miguel Andujar in the fourth. Another run came around to score on a throwing error from catcher Adley Rutschman, but Wells was able to limit the damage by getting back-to-back groundouts to end the inning. The right-hander sports a 4.30 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP through 37.2 innings, but his lack of strikeouts (25) has limited his fantasy upside to start the season.

Wells allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out four in 4.2 innings during Friday's win over the Rays. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up just two runs in 11 innings over his first two starts in May, Wells has been less effective recently by allowing six runs in 8.2 innings over his last two outings. The right-hander was able to settle for the no-decision in Friday's 13-inning game, but he snapped his streak of five consecutive starts without issuing a walk. Wells projects to make his next start on the road against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Wells (1-3) allowed three runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out two in four innings to take the loss Sunday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Wells had lasted at least five innings in each of his last three starts, and he posted a 2.25 ERA and 0.75 WHIP in 16 innings during that time. However, he was unable to replicate his success Sunday, and he was charged with his first loss since April 21. The 27-year-old has exhibited plenty of command recently and has now put together five straight starts without issuing a walk. Wells tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Rays on Friday.

Wells (1-2) earned the win after allowing one run on five hits while striking out three over six innings Monday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Wells limited traffic on the bases and pounded the strike zone in this one, firing 54 of 75 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has been sharp since allowing four runs in his first start of the season, limiting opponents to two runs or fewer in his last five outings. Wells now owns a 3.75 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 17:4 K:BB across 24 frames in 2022.

Wells yielded one run on four hits over five innings in Monday's loss to Minnesota. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Wells began the game with three perfect innings before coughing up a pair of singles in the fourth. The Twins finally broke the scoreless tie in the fifth with Ryan Jeffers' RBI single. The 6-foot-8 righty has now thrown five innings in consecutive starts after totaling just eight frames in his first three outings. Wells will carry a 4.50 ERA into his projected home start against the Royals this weekend.

Wells isn't expected to keep stretching out further than the five innings and 72 pitches he threw Wednesday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wells is part of the rotation this season after spending last year in a relief role, but the Orioles seemingly don't feel comfortable fully unleashing him as a starter. While he was able to reach five innings Wednesday, the given pitch count means he'll only be able to do that on days where he's particularly efficient. That will significantly hurt his chances of picking up wins, which further diminishes the fantasy appeal for a pitcher who's already fairly unexciting, as he owns a 5.54 ERA and a 17.5 percent strikeout rate through four starts.

Wells allowed two runs on three hits in five innings while striking out four in a 5-2 loss Wednesday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Wells allowed a two-out, two-run homer to Giancarlo Stanton in the first inning and then retired 14 of the next 15 batters he faced. It was the longest major-league appearance of the 27-year-old's career. While his 5.54 ERA for the season is unsightly, he has been better since a poor first start. Over his last three appearances, Wells has a much more palatable 3.18 ERA to go along with a 1.15 WHIP. His next start will likely be early next week against Minnesota.

Wells (0-2) took the loss after allowing two runs on five hits over 2.1 innings in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Wells appeared to right the ship after a dreadful beginning of the season, but he was pulled early for the second time in 11 days in the Orioles' ninth loss. He's also suffering from control issues at the plate, surrendering six walks over eight innings this season.

Wells completed four scoreless innings against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out three. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander struggled a bit with his control in the contest, walking a pair of batters and hitting Anthony Rizzo with a pitch. However, Wells kept New York off the scoreboard for four frames before Baltimore turned to Mike Baumann in the fifth. It was an overall positive performance for Wells after he lasted just 1.2 frames and gave up four runs in his season debut. He's scheduled to next take the mound for a start in Oakland on Thursday.

Wells (0-1) allowed four runs on three hits and two walks across 1.2 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
All four runs against Wells came in the second inning, including a two-run shot by Brandon Lowe that ended his afternoon. It was his first career MLB start after appearing in 44 games out of Baltimore's bullpen as a rookie last season. As of now, he's projected to take the mound at home next week against the Yankees.
