O'Neill is hitting .293 (12-for-41) with five home runs, 11 RBI, three walks, a stolen base and 12 runs in 10 games since returning to Triple-A Memphis.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill was optioned to the Redbirds on May 4 following a solid 21-game stint at the big-league level to open the season. The slugging outfielder did continue struggling with contact (46.2 percent strikeout rage) during that stint, but his work with the Redbirds since being sent down is certainly encouraging. The big-league club's outfield remains crowded at the moment with Jose Martinez keeping himself in the lineup due to his red-hot bat, but O'Neill is likely to be back up at some point in the season.

O'Neill was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With Luke Gregerson (shoulder) coming off the injured list, the Cardinals opted to send an outfielder down, rather than another relief pitcher. O'Neill is hitting .263 with one home run and a 46.2 percent strikeout rate in 38 at-bats this season. He has not received consistent opportunities at the big-league level but also has very little left to prove at Triple-A.

O'Neill (elbow) was retired as a pinch hitter in a loss to the Reds on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mike Shildt wasted no time in getting the slugging outfielder back on the field following his activation Friday. The 23-year-old projects to return to a reserve role that should afford him periodic starts at multiple outfield spots.

O'Neill (elbow) went 0-for-4 in Double-A Springfield's loss to Amarillo on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill went without a hit for the second straight rehab game, but he remains on track for a likely Friday activation. The 23-year-old projects to slot back into a part-time role in the outfield upon his return.

O'Neill (elbow) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Double-A Springfield's loss to Amarillo on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It was the first of what might only be three rehab games for O'Neill with Springfield. The power-hitting outfielder could be activated as early as Friday, when he'd look to resume a solid start to his season (.286 average through 29 plate appearances).

O'Neill (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill was placed on the 10-day injured list April 16 with a right elbow nerve subluxation, but his ability to resume action in the minor-league ranks a week later suggests the issue isn't a serious concern. The 23-year-old may only stick with Springfield for a couple games before rejoining the Cardinals for their weekend series with the Reds.

O'Neill (arm) is expected to return from the injured list after the 10-day minimum, Jeff Jones of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is positive news for the 23-year-old, who injured his arm on a throw to home plate from the outfield against the Brewers on Monday. The Cardinals don't anticipate O'Neill needing a rehab stint prior to his activation.

O'Neill was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow nerve subluxation.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill left Monday's game against the Brewers with what was originally described as arm soreness, but the issue was apparently more serious. It's unclear when he's expected to return.

O'Neill was removed from Monday's game against the Brewers due to right arm soreness, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill made a pair of throws from center field to home plate in the second inning, and it would seem as though the issue cropped up on one of those two plays. His first throw went sailing over Yadier Molina's head at home plate as he attempted to gun down a runner at the dish, so perhaps he put a little too much juice on it. O'Neill was replaced in center by Drew Robinson.
