St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill has been optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday. The Cardinals just don't have room for O'Neill on the current roster and want him to play every day. Relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (shoulder) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will take over O'Neill's spot on the active roster.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (elbow) has been activated from the 10-day injured list. O'Neill was forced to miss 10 days with a right elbow ulnar nerve subluxation. He is not in the starting lineup for Friday, but is on the active roster for the weekend series. Jose Martinez will play right field and bat fifth versus righty Anthony DeSclafani. Martinez could be a decent cheap option for DFS contests with DeSclafani struggling this season.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (elbow) is heading to Double-A Springfield to begin his rehab assignment on Tuesday. O'Neill is eligible to come off the injured list on Friday and will likely do so unless he suffers a setback on his rehab assignment. The outfielder was batting .286 with a homer and four RBI in 14 games for the Cardinals. He'll return to a fourth-outfield role with St. Louis when he's ready, splitting time with Jose Martinez and Dexter Fowler.
