Williams (1-0) threw six shutout frames, posting six strikeouts with three hits and one walk, to secure a 5-0 victory against the Reds on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old has picked up in 2019 right where he left off last year. In eight of his last 13 starts of 2018, Williams didn't allow a run. He posted another such outing Sunday, and over his last 14 starts, Williams now owns a 1.20 ERA. The key for Williams becoming an even better fantasy asset is more strikeouts and run support from his offense, both of which happened in his 2019 debut.

Williams will start Sunday against the Reds after his scheduled start Saturday was rained out, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chris Archer and Jameson Taillon will remain on schedule for next week's series against the Cardinals, with Joe Musgrove getting bumped Sunday in favor of Williams. That doesn't necessarily mean that Williams is viewed as ahead of Musgrove, however, as Musgrove's start to spring had been delayed due to recovery from abdominal surgery, so it's likely that the team was happy to give him a few extra days to build up.

Williams hurled three scoreless innings against the Orioles on Sunday. He gave up three hits and no walks while striking out two batters.
EDGE Analysis
While his 2018 second-half 1.38 ERA is unsustainable, he figures to see solid matchups as Pittsburgh's No. 3 starter. Prior to his overachieving 2018, when he compiled a 3.11 ERA in 170.2 innings, he registered a 4.07 ERA in 150.1 innings as a rookie. His projected earned-run average for 2019 likely lies somewhere in between the results from his first two campaigns.

Williams hurled five shutout innings against the Phillies on Thursday, giving up three hits and one unearned run while striking out four batters.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander worked admirably through three errors, something which could plague Pittsburgh pitchers all season long. While it's unlikely Williams will duplicate his overall 3.11 ERA in 2018 or his 1.00 ERA stretch in 12 starts (71.2 innings), the nearly universal expectation of regression may help undervalue his ADP.

Williams made his Grapefruit League debut Friday, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks in three innings. He struck out three Toronto batters.
EDGE Analysis
Williams pitched fairly well Friday, but surrendered a pair of homers to Anthony Alford. The righty unveiled a curveball that he's been working on in simulated games. Williams threw the pitch only six times in 2018. While the curveball could add to Williams' repertoire, it didn't appear particularly effective.

Williams (14-10) threw five innings and took the loss Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four in a loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Williams allowed a two-run triple to David Bote in the second inning before an RBI single from Daniel Murphy in the fourth. The 6-foot-3 righty will end his 2018 campaign with a strong 3.11 ERA across 170.2 innings. He also posted a 126:55 K:BB.

Williams (14-9) picked up the win in Saturday's 3-0 victory over the Brewers, scattering four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Milwaukee was only able to get one runner into scoring position against the 26-year-old, putting runners on first and second with two outs in the third inning, but Williams erased the threat immediately by getting Ryan Braun to ground into a fielder's choice with his very next pitch. Williams has now held his opposition off the board in an astounding eight of his last 12 starts dating back to July 11, going 8-2 with a 1.00 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 54:20 K:BB in 71.2 innings over that stretch. He'll get one more chance to play spoiler in the NL playoff picture in a road outing against the Cubs on Thursday.

Williams (13-9) twirled six scoreless innings and took the win Sunday, scattering just two walks and two hits while striking out seven in the 3-2 victory against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Dating back to July 11, Williams has now allowed two or fewer runs in 10 of his last 11 outings. His 115:51 K:BB isn't spectacular, but the 3.16 ERA across 159.2 innings looks solid for the 6-foot-3 righty. Williams will face off against Milwaukee again on Saturday.

Williams will not make his scheduled start against the Marlins as Sunday's game was postponed due to weather, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rain has been prevalent throughout the weekend, leading to Sunday's postponement. Williams could simply pitch Monday at St. Louis and bump the rest of the rotation back a day, but it remains to how the Pirates adjust their starting rotation.

Williams (12-9) picked up the win Monday against the Reds, allowing five hits and one walk across 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Williams was locked in Monday, firing 67 of his 101 pitches for strikes while allowing just one extra-base hit en route to his second consecutive victory (and scoreless outing). The right-hander has been lights out through eight second-half starts, registering seven quality outings while posting a ridiculous 0.72 ERA through 49.2 innings over that stretch. He'll look to stay dialed in as he faces the lowly Marlins in Pittsburgh next time out.
