Trea Turner Avoids Arbitration rotoballer.com Fri 1/11/19 1:43 PM

Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $3.725 million deal, according to sources. Turner is mainly useful for his speed (89 steals the last two years), but he also hit .271/.344/.416 with a career-high 19 homers and 73 RBI in 2019. His 20-homer, 40-steal upside firmly puts him in the discussion as a top-five fantasy shortstop worth taking in the early rounds of drafts.

Expectations were sky-high for Turner after he swiped 79 bags in 171 games between 2016-2017, which made his 43 in 162 games in 2018 both underwhelming and surprising. [...]

Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner went 2-for-2 with a run, an RBI, three walks, and a stolen base in the 8-6 loss to the New York Mets. Turner is really turning it up as of late for fantasy owners, as he is putting up a .385/ .515/ .615 stat line in his last seven games along with nine runs, one home run, five RBI, and three stolen bases as well. It's safe to say Turner's value as one of fantasy's best shortstops remains true and will be a must-start in all formats.

Trea Turner Has Second Three-Hit Game in August rotoballer.com Sat 9/1/18 11:15 AM

Nationals shortstop Trea Turner had himself a nice game on Friday. Turner racked up three hits in four at-bats, stole a base, and walked. Although none of these hits earned him any runs or RBI, he did his part in the Nationals lineup. August has been fairly solid for Turner. With six steals and three home runs, he is displaying that awesome mix of speed and power he was drafted so highly for. As long as he can stay healthy, September should prove fruitful for owners as well.
