The news broke on Thursday that Yasmani Grandal is headed to the Milwaukee Brewers on a one-year, $18 million contract. This is evidence of yet another move from the Brewers to go all in on their current squad. This trade takes one of the Brewers' two weakest offensive positions and turns it into a legitimate strength for this team. The question is, what are the fantasy effects of this trade? Not just for Grandal himself but for the catching situation he leaves behind in Los Angeles. There is also[...]
Brewers Avoid Arbitration With Travis Shaw rotoballer.com Fri 1/11/19 4:12 PM
The Milwaukee Brewers avoided salary arbitration with infielder Travis Shaw on Friday by signing him to an undisclosed one-year deal. While Shaw can play either third or second base, he'll likely be ticketed for the everyday job at the hot corner in 2019 with Mike Moustakas likely leaving in free agency. The dual-eligibility makes Shaw more attractive as a top-20 fantasy third baseman. He has managed 63 home runs in the last two seasons with Milwaukee and has also chipped in 15 stolen bases.

Statcast Review - Noteworthy Hitting Leaders (xSLG) rotoballer.com Mon 1/7/19 9:30 AM
xSLG isnt a stat youll find on the back of a baseball cardor one youd find on a baseball reference page. However, as far as advanced stats go, xSLG is pretty straightforward. It is the expected slugging percentage of a hitter based on hit probability his batted balls in play, regardless of outcome. So if a player has a high xSLG but low SLG, hes probably experienced some bad luck on batted balls. Likewise, if a player has a high SLG but low xSLG hes probably been a little fortunate in the power [...]
Travis Shaw 2019 Outlook: Mayor Of Ding Dong City Deserves Reelection rotoballer.com Fri 12/28/18 12:58 PM
After two seasons with a full-time gig, Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw has proven his power is durable. Shaw surpassed 30 homers for the second consecutive season in 2018 with a nearly-identical ISO year-over-year (.239). However, his average (.241) and run production slipped (159 runs+RBI) after enduring a career-low in BABIP (.242). Entering his age-29 season, Shaw has added second base eligibility to his resume and should continue being a serviceable utility man on fantasy squad[...]

Travis Shaw Hitting Cleanup In Game 6 Of NLCS rotoballer.com Fri 10/19/18 4:00 PM
Milwaukee Brewers infielder Travis Shaw is starting at second base and is hitting cleanup against Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Friday. It's a nice lineup placement, but Shaw hit just .209/.303/.296 with two of his 32 homers during the regular season against southpaws. He did take Dodgers lefty Alex Wood deep in Game 2 in Milwaukee, but Shaw has limited DFS upside Friday night.
Travis Shaw Hits Key Triple Monday In NLCS Game 3 rotoballer.com Tue 10/16/18 2:23 AM
Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw struck again Monday in NLCS Game 3. After impacting Game 2 with a homer off a lefty, which was rare for Shaw, he got to face a righty Monday. He would take advantage with a triple off the wall in the sixth inning, which lead to him scoring the second run of the game off a wild pitch. The Brewers would go on to win 4-0. Shaw has much better results batting against right-handed pitchers this season so it is worth checking out who the starting pitcher an[...]
