Jankowski is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Jankowski is on the bench for the third time in four games, with all of those absences coming against left-handed starting pitchers. Jankowski still appears to have a grasp on a strong-side platoon role while Corey Seager's (hamstring) move to the injured list has resulted in Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran seeing most of their reps at shortstop rather than in the outfield.

Jankowski went 1-for-1 with a stolen base in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski pinch hit for Bubba Thompson and finished out the game in left field. The former claimed an Opening Day roster because Leody Taveras opened the season on the IL, but he's remained on the team and provided marginal value. His three steals is tied for the team high with Marcus Semien, and Jankowski has worked his way into the left field rotation.

Jankowski went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-2 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski slotted into the No. 2 spot in the batting order Tuesday and turned in his third multi-hit effort of the young season. He plated a run in the third on a single, doubled in the sixth and walked and scored in the eighth. The 31-year-old has been a surprisingly productive addition for the Rangers early on, slashing .333/.419/.519 with four extra-base hits, nine RBI, seven runs scored and a 4:5 BB:K over 32 plate appearances. He has only started against righties this season as he's assumed the strong side of a platoon in the outfield.

Jankowski started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 8-2 loss to Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski made his second straight start and fifth in the last six games. Robbie Grossman opened the season with a regular spot in the outfield, but his slump has given Jankowski an opportunity to enter the outfield mix. The 31-year-old journeyman is 6-for-17 with two doubles, one triple, three walks, two steals, three RBI and five runs scored during his five-start run.

Jankowski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski is hitting the bench after he started in each of Texas' last three games while going 3-for-10 with two doubles, two walks four runs, three RBI and two stolen bases. With Texas bringing back Leody Taveras (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, he, Adolis Garcia and Robbie Grossman should fill everyday roles between outfield and designated hitter. However, with Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran likely to see more time in the infield rather than left field moving forward after Corey Seager (hamstring) was placed on the IL on Wednesday, Jankowski or Bubba Thompson could continue to see meaningful opportunities in the remaining spot in the outfield.

Jankowski started in center field and went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 11-2 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
For a second straight game, Jankowski was in the starting lineup and stole a base. He and Bubba Thompson, starting in left, have sparked a listless Texas offense the last two days. Given the struggles of Robbie Grossman (.167/.235/.300), it's fair to speculate that left field may be in play for either Jankowski or Thompson when Leody Taveras (oblique) returns from a rehab assignment, likely later this week.

Jankowski started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a double, and RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski made his first start of the season, slotting in for a slumping Robbie Grossman. The speedy, defense-first outfielder made the Opening Day roster, because Leody Taveras (oblique) was placed on the injured list. With Taveras having started a rehab assignment, he could return as soon as Monday, which could jeopardize Jankowski's spot on the roster.

The Rangers selected Jankowski's contract Wednesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll fill the vacancy left by Leody Taveras, who is still working back from a left oblique strain and will open the season on the injured list. Jankowski, 31, signed a minor-league contract with Texas in January after batting just .164 with a .445 OPS in 44 games last season between the Mets and Mariners.

Jankowski signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Friday and received an invitation to major-league spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski only managed a .445 OPS in 64 plate appearances last season with the Mets and Mariners. That number became a little more respectable in Triple-A (.679 OPS), though the odds of him making an impact in the majors remain extremely slim.

Jankowski signed a minor-league deal with the Mets on Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski was bumped from Seattle's 40-man roster on Aug. 5, though it didn't take much time for him to find his next opportunity. He also spent time with the Mets earlier in the season, prior to being designated for assignment in July. Between the two stops, Jankowski has 64 plate appearances in the majors and has maintained only a .164/.281/.164 line.
