Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday that d'Arnaud (concussion) is "feeling better," Grant McAuley of 929 The Game reports.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud was placed on the 7-day injured list Sunday after suffering a concussion Saturday on a collision at home plate. There's still no timetable for his return, but he's at least making some semblance of progress. The 34-year-old had gotten off to a solid 11-for-33 (.333) start this season while playing nearly every day between designated hitter and catcher.

Atlanta placed d'Arnaud (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Chadwick Tromp was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to replace d'Arnaud as the No. 2 catcher behind Sean Murphy. Despite entering the season in a projected backup role, d'Arnaud had played on a near-everyday basis while moving between catcher and designated hitter, slashing .333/.333/.424 while starting in all but one of Atlanta's first nine games. While d'Arnaud is sidelined for the next week, Murphy will see an even larger share of the reps behind the dish, and Marcell Ozuna should occupy the DH spot on a near-everyday basis.

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker told reporters after Saturday's loss to the Padres that d'Arnaud is expected to go on the 7-day concussion IL, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The concussion occurred after d'Arnaud collided with Rougned Odor at home plate. The 34-year-old backstop will miss at least a week while recovering, but there's no guarantee he'll be ready to return after that week. Sean Murphy will see the majority of playing time behind the plate while he recovers.

D'Arnaud left Saturday's game against the Padres with a potential injury, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The backstop was involved with two collisions at home plate and was replaced by Sean Murphy. Atlanta hasn't given an update on d'Arnaud's condition as of yet, and it's likely due to the 34-year-old undergoing tests.

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup Friday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
It's the first day off this season for d'Arnaud, who had hit cleanup as the designated hitter in four consecutive games. Marcell Ozuna will DH and bat eighth Friday versus the Padres and right-hander Nick Martinez. Sean Murphy is catching and hitting fifth.

D'Arnaud is batting cleanup as the designated hitter Thursday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
It's the fourth straight start out of the No. 4 spot in the order for d'Arnaud, who has gone 10-for-26 (.385) with an .885 OPS through six total games this season. He'll likely continue to get everyday playing time -- whether at DH or catcher -- while he's carrying such a hot bat. Sean Murphy is behind the plate and hitting sixth Thursday versus Friars southpaw Blake Snell.

D'Arnaud went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Atlanta manager Brian Snikter has had little choice but to make d'Arnaud an everyday player in the early going, as the veteran catcher has hits in five straight games while batting .455 (10-for-22) with three doubles, three runs and four RBI. The 34-year-old will need some rest eventually, whether he cools down at the plate or not, but he's started three of his five games at DH so far and should see consistent playing time at the position even as Sean Murphy handles the majority of the starts behind the plate.

D'Arnaud will fill the designated hitter role and bat cleanup for Atlanta on Tuesday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
It's the second straight start out of the cleanup spot for d'Arnaud, who has gone 7-for-18 (.389) with two doubles and four RBI through four games while shifting between DH and catching duties. Sean Murphy is behind the plate and hitting seventh Tuesday versus the Cardinals and left-hander Steven Matz.

D'Arnaud is starting at catcher and batting cleanup for Atlanta's game Monday versus the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud is doubling up Sean Murphy in regard to playing time in the early going, making two starts at catcher and two at designated hitter while Murphy has started just twice behind the plate. It's a playing time breakdown not likely to continue, as manager Brian Snitker seemingly is just riding d'Arnaud while he's off to a 6-for-13 start.

D'Arnaud went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Atlanta's season-opening victory Thursday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Serving as the DH and batting eighth, d'Arnaud rattled off three singles and a double to help Atlanta turn the lineup over versus Patrick Corbin and the Nats' bullpen. The 34-year-old won't be called on to catch as much in 2023 behind newcomer Sean Murphy, but he should get regular looks out of the designated hitter role -- especially versus lefties.
