Tampa Bay Rays catcher Travis D'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with two homers in the Rays win over the Tigers Thursday. The catcher was brought in because of injuries to Mike Zunino and Anthony Bemboom (knee) and is hitting .360 with two home runs in the past two weeks. He's fine being left off of rosters as Mike Zunino has returned to take over the main catching duties once again. However, it's a nice boost for the Rays backup catcher to have a hot bat.

Tampa Bay Rays catcher Travis D'Arnaud (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. D'Arnaud has struggled to find his groove with the bat since joining the Rays. Veteran Erik Kratz will draw the start behind the plate and bat eighth versus righty Trent Thornton. Both d'Arnaud and Kratz can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

After getting acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday, Travis D'Arnaud is making his Tampa Bay Rays debut on Saturday batting out of the fifth spot and starting at catcher.
