The Twins are expected to option Adams to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Zebby Matthews (shoulder) returning from the injured list to start Saturday, Adams will be pushed back to the minors to create roster space. The 25-year-old righty made two bulk-relief appearances during his time in the majors, giving up six earned runs over eight innings while striking out four batters and walking one.

Adams (1-0) worked four innings in bulk relief to pick up the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk while striking out three, during Saturday's 12-4 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Adams was the beneficiary of a monster day by the Twins offense, but he still earned his first career win by pitching much better than he did in his MLB debut. The 25-year-old followed up two shutout innings by Cole Sands and gave the Twins four solid innings, needing just 67 pitches to get through them, with the only damage being a solo home run off the bat of Jack Suwinski. With Zebby Matthews set to begin a rehab assignment Sunday, it remains to be seen if Adams will stick with the team on the other side of the All-Star break.

Adams allowed five runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out one over four innings Saturday against Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Adams was used as a bulk reliever in a bullpen game for the Twins. He gave up plenty of loud contact in his MLB debut as he allowed a 47.4 percent hard-hit rate, according to Baseball Savant. With Bailey Ober (hip) likely to return after the All-Star break, it's not clear if Adams will be used in a similar role again Friday when the Twins have an opening in their rotation.

The Twins recalled Adams from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins are going to use Cole Sands as their starter Saturday against the Rays, but Adams is expected to get in the game at some point, which will mark his MLB debut. The 25-year-old right-hander has made 19 appearances (five starts) in Triple-A this year and owns a 3.68 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and a 58:20 K:BB through 63.2 innings. Kody Funderburk was optioned to St. Paul in a corresponding move.

Adams will be called up from Triple-A and activated for Saturday's game and is expected to pitch as either a starter, a bulk reliever behind an opener, or as a reliever in a bullpen game, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins haven't announced their starting pitcher for Saturday's game with a spot in the rotation open when Bailey Ober was placed on the injured list. Adams has a 3.68 ERA at Triple-A with a 21.8% strikeout rate and 7.5% walk rate. If allowed to start or be used as a bulk reliever, it's possible he could remain in the rotation until Ober is able to return from a left hip impingement.

The Twins optioned Adams to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The corresponding move will come Tuesday, when Simeon Woods Richardson is expected to be recalled from Triple-A to start against the Rangers. Adams was called up over the weekend and did not make an appearance out of the Minnesota bullpen.

The Twins recalled Adams from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Adams has tallied a 3.43 ERA and a 37:10 K:BB over 42 innings as a bulk reliever with St. Paul, and he'll join the big league club Friday. With Pablo Lopez (shoulder) on the IL and David Festa struggling, there's a path for Adams to make some starts for the Twins, though he's likely to pitch out of the bullpen at first. Kody Funderburk was optioned to St. Paul in a corresponding move.

The Twins intend to promote Adams to the majors Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins' pitching staff is shorthanded in the absence of Pablo Lopez (shoulder), and David Festa was crushed filling in for a start Thursday. Meanwhile, Adams is another of the team's top pitching prospects and has turned in a 37:10 K:BB across 42 innings with Triple-A St. Paul this season while working in a bulk relief role. That usage suggests Adams will begin his big-league career in the bullpen, but it wouldn't take him long to stretch back out to pitch as a traditional starter.

The Twins optioned Adams to minor-league camp Sunday, Phil Miller of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adams was added to the 40-man roster in November but wasn't a serious candidate to join the Twins for Opening Day. The 25-year-old righty will most likely open the 2025 season as a member of the Triple-A St. Paul rotation. Adams logged a 3.90 ERA and 118:35 K:BB in 127 innings between stops with St. Paul and Double-A Wichita in 2024.
