Gonsolin will open the year at Triple-A Oklahoma City, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He dealt with an illness at the end of spring training, but is listed as healthy to begin the minor-league season. Gonsolin can touch triple digits with his fastball, and it's interesting that he will get the Triple-A nod while Dustin May heads back to Double-A. Both pitchers are expected to contribute in the majors at some point this season, but based on these assignments, Gonsolin will probably get there first.

Gonsolin (illness) was reassigned to minor-league camp Friday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin turned some heads in camp, firing nine scoreless innings, but he'll open the season in the minors to continue his development. The hard-throwing right-hander is viewed as a starter long term, though he could debut out of the bullpen in 2019 if he continues to impress on the farm.

Gonsolin could help the Dodgers in the big leagues this season, per manager Dave Roberts, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was obvious without Roberts saying anything, but it is nice to see the hard-throwing righty made a positive impression in camp. Given the Dodgers' rotation depth, Gonsolin would likely break in as a reliever, where he could be dominant. He will still be developed as a starter long term.

Gonsolin was invited to the Dodgers' big-league camp on Friday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin made nine starts at the Double-A level last season, recording a 2.44 ERA while striking out 27.2 percent of opposing batters for Tulsa. He's unlikely to be in serious consideration for an Opening Day roster spot but could have a shot to debut later in the year should he continue to impress in the minors.
