Locastro is being sent to a nearby hospital to undergo an MRI after he exited Saturday's game against Boston with right knee soreness.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro exited soon after crashing into the wall while catching a flyball in the first inning. He was looked at by the Yankees' medical staff and will now undergo an MRI. A firm diagnosis should emerge for the outfielder following Saturday's tests, and for the time being, he can be considered questionable for Sunday's series finale.

Locastro exited Saturday's game against the Yankees after appearing to suffer a knee injury while catching a flyball against the wall in the first inning, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro was initially able to stay in the game after making a nice play on an Alex Verdugo flyball in the first inning. He did not come out for the second inning, however, as Greg Allen shifted to left field and Tyler Wade entered the game in right. Locastro figures to get evaluated by the club's medical staff and can be considered day-to-day until further update is given.

Locastro was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Yankees on Thursday in exchange for right-hander Keegan Curtis, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro saw sporadic playing time with the Diamondbacks to begin the year, and he slashed .178/.271/.220 with a home run, 11 runs, five RBI and five stolen bases in 55 games. The 28-year-old will likely take on a depth role in the Yankees' outfield going forward, but he'll provide his new club with a speed option and strong defensive abilities.

Locastro started in center field and went 0-for-2 in Monday's 7-1 loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro got the call in center field against a left-hander Monday, the first game after Arizona placed Ketel Marte (hamstring) on the injured list. This was his first start since June 16. Manager Torey Lovullo indicated that Pavin Smith, who started in right field Monday, will likely get the bulk of the center-field starts in Marte's absence.

Locastro entered as a pinch runner and stole a base in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
With two outs in the bottom of ninth inning, Locastro ran for Domingo Leyba, who had walked, and put himself in scoring position with his fifth steal of the season. Locastro's playing time has dried up since Ketel Marte's return from the injured list and the acquisition of Josh Reddick. His last start was May 19, eight games ago.

Locastro went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro made his second start in seven games and snapped an 0-for-13 skid with a fifth-inning double. As injuries continue to pile up -- Asdrubal Cabrera (hamstring) joined the MASH unit Thursday -- Locastro could reclaim a regular role in center field, if Pavin Smith makes his home at first base with Cabrera and Christian Walker (oblique) sidelined.

Locastro entered Tuesday's game in the seventh inning, played center field, and went 0-for-2 in an 11-3 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro, who hadn't started the previous three games, entered when Pavin Smith moved from center field to first base after Christian Walker (oblique) was removed. Smith, who took the center field job when Locastro hit the injured list in April with a finger injury, could fill in at first base if Walker's injury turns out to be significant, but the Diamondbacks have several other candidates for that task as well. His injury doesn't necessarily provide a path to at-bats for Locastro in center field. Additionally, with Ketel Marte (hamstring) set to begin a rehab assignment, he could be back by next week to take the majority of at-bats in center field.

Locastro started in center field, batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 8-0 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
This was Locastro's first start since coming off the 10-day injured list. He had missed two weeks while healing a fractured finger. The outfield situation changed while he was away, so he's not guaranteed to slip back into the primary center fielder role he had prior to the injury. Pavin Smith, who started in right field Wednesday, and Josh Rojas have both performed well during Locastro's absence, giving manager Torey Lovullo options in center and right.

Locastro entered Tuesday's game as a pinch runner and scored a run in a 9-3 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Locastro was activated off the injured list Tuesday, but he did not re-enter the starting lineup. Prior to dislocating his finger mid-April, Locastro manned center field as the primary replacement for Ketel Marte (hamstring). Since then, Pavin Smith has successfully transitioned to center and become the primary leadoff hitter. There's still an opportunity in right field with Kole Calhoun (hamstring) sidelined, but that won't happen until Josh Rojas (four HR in five games) cools off. For now, Locastro will fill a familiar role, that of fourth outfielder and speed off the bench.

Locastro is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Before being forced to the injured list April 18 with a dislocated finger, Locastro appeared to have settled into an everyday role in center field for a banged-up Diamondbacks squad. Locastro is healthy again after being activated Monday, but he may have to settle for short-side platoon work in center for now, as Pavin Smith has impressed over the past two weeks as Arizona's primary leadoff man. Josh Rojas has also been showing a hot bat of late while serving as the main replacement in right field for Kole Calhoun (hamstring), which at least temporarily blocks another path to at-bats for Locastro.
