Jordan (0-2) was battered for seven runs on 10 hits and a walk in six innings during Wednesday's shutout loss to Toronto. He struck out four. After a four-run first inning, Jordan did manage to settle down a little, giving up only one more run until the Jays pushed across two more in the sixth. Even if he gets to start again, there's not a lot to like here from a fantasy perspective, as Jordan's high-contact pitching style has not served him well in the majors thus far.

Jordan will start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, the Washington Post's Chelsea Janes reports. As long as Jordan wasn't used in Tuesday's doubleheader he was going to get the ball Wednesday and that plan remained in tact after the twin bill. Jordan could conceivably stick around for a couple starts with Stephen Strasburg (neck/back) out, but he is a low-upside option. In 77.1 innings as a starter in the big leagues Jordan has a 4.31 ERA and 46 strikeouts. He threw 74 pitches in his last outing so don't look for Jordan to make it too deep into Wednesday's game.

Jordan will likely start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, if he isn't needed out of the bullpen during Tuesday's doubleheader, CSN Mid-Atlantic's Mark Zuckerman reports. With Stephen Strasburg (neck/back) placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, Jordan may have the opportunity to make multiple starts. Of course, it's quite possible Jordan will be needed out of the bullpen Tuesday, in which case the Nationals will likely have to call someone up to start Wednesday's contest.

Jordan took the loss against the Reds on Friday night, allowing three runs on six hits, walking two and striking out one over 4.2 innings after taking over in the second inning for an injured Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg left the game with neck stiffness after facing one batter in the second inning, but the team doesn't believe the injury is serious. Jordan (0-1, 5.79 ERA) was just recalled from Triple-A Syracuse last Sunday, and may be sent back after tossing 74 pitches in this outing.

Jordan was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. Jordan will take the roster spot of Craig Stammen (forearm), who landed on the disabled list. Taylor has started all 14 games he has appeared in for the Nationals, but with the starting rotation full, he will pitch out of the bullpen this time around.

Jordan was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday. Jordan spent time in Syracuse last season so this move by the Nationals shouldn't come as much of a surprise. However, he also started in five games for the Nationals and could certainly receive a promotion at some point after Opening Day.

Jordan underwent surgery in September to remove bone chips from his right elbow, Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports. The 25-year-old struggled in five April starts for the big club, with a 5.61 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 25.2 innings, resulting in his demotion to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of the month. He worked to refine his mechanics and eventually regained his velocity, but elbow soreness forced Jordan out of action in early June and would ultimately end his season. Jordan did undergo Tommy John surgery in 2011, but this was merely a cleanup procedure, and the expectation is that he should be ready for spring training.

Taylor Jordan has not pitched for Triple-A Syracuse since June 5 because of right elbow soreness. "He had an MRI," Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said. "The MRI is fine. We wanted to see, what's the discomfort coming from?" Although the Nats don't seem to be sure exactly what injury Jordan is dealing with, Rizzo did add that the club is "not too worried" about the pitcher potentially needing what would be his second Tommy John surgery. Obviously, Jordan is not going to be an option for the big league club anytime soon.
