Hearn didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Rockies after tossing four innings of one-run ball, allowing eight hits and a walk while fanning six.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old southpaw gave up plenty of contact despite tossing 54 of his 76 pitches for strikes, but at least he found a way to limit the damage. Hearn, who didn't see action in the Rangers' opening series against the Blue Jays last week, is projected to have a two-start week since he's scheduled to make his second start April 17 against the Angels in Arlington.

Hearn will start the Rangers' fourth game of the season Monday versus the Rockies in Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Though Hearn won't be used in the Rangers' season-opening series this weekend, those invested in the lefty in deeper mixed leagues or AL-only formats may have been reluctant to use him anyway in a road matchup against a loaded Toronto offense. Instead, Hearn gets a more favorable draw to begin the 2022 campaign, as he'll line up for a two-start week. After drawing the Rockies in the Rangers' home opener, Hearn is projected to make his second start April 17 against the Angels in Arlington.

Hearn allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings in Thursday's spring training start against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Hearn had traffic on the bases in each inning but limited the damage. Texas manager Chris Woodward talked about the young lefty's maturity with Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. "He's able to deal with adversity much better. He's able to execute better, just in a much better place," the manager said. In three Cactus League starts. Hearn has allowed two runs on nine hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 8.2 innings. With five spring training games remaining, there's one more potential start for Hearn, or the team could hold back to have him follow Opening Day starter Jon Gray in the rotation. That would mean he'd pitch Saturday, April 8, against the Blue Jays.

Hearn allowed one run on five hits and struck out two over 2.2 innings in Saturday's spring training start against Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Hearn dealt with baserunners in all three innings but was touched for just the one run in the first frame when he allowed three base hits. He got out of the second with the help of a pickoff, and reliever Daniel Robert prevented Ryan McMahon from scoring in the third inning after Hearn was removed following a ground-rule double and 49 pitches. The left-hander, who is expected to be part of the 2022 rotation, will get one more Cactus League start. Depending on where he lands in the rotation, Hearn could add another 20-to-30 pitches before making his first start of the regular season. His numbers in 2021 were unexciting, but Hearn could be of use in AL-only formats.

Hearn and the Rangers agreed Tuesday on a one-year, $1.05 million deal to avoid arbitration, Robyn Hearn of NewsChannel 6 Wichita Falls reports.
EDGE Analysis
The news of Hearn's deal with Texas was broken by his sister, Robyn. The Rangers cycled through a number of traditional starters and primary pitchers out of the bullpen in 2021, with Hearn proving to be one of the more reliable options. He covered 104.1 innings in total over his 42 outings (11 starts), going 6-6 while producing a 4.66 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 92:42 K:BB. While those numbers aren't outstanding, Hearn at least appears to be penciled into a rotation spot to begin the 2022 season, which is enough to make him a draftable option in AL-only leagues.

Hearn allowed one hit and struck out three over two scoreless innings in Monday's spring training game against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Hearn had an unremarkable introduction to the Rangers' starting rotation in 2021, but the lefty is penciled in as a starter this season. He looked good during his first Cactus League start Monday, but given Hearn posted a 5.82 ERA in 11 starts last season, he needs more than two good spring innings to spark interest.

Hearn (6-6) allowed four runs on six hits and one walk with two strikeouts over 5.1 innings, taking the loss in Wednesday's 7-2 defeat to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Hearn allowed just one extra base hit in his outing against the Angels on Wednesday, but nonetheless surrendered four earned runs and picked up his sixth loss of the season. Since joining the Texas rotation on Aug. 17, the left-hander has a 5.56 ERA and has allowed seven home runs in 43.2 innings. Still, Hearn's solid 29:10 K:BB over that same span and his ability to eat innings make him an asset. He'll look to vie for a role with the Rangers next season.

Hearn pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander gave up a two-run double to Kyle Higashioka in the fifth inning, providing the only big blow against him in the contest. After giving up seven runs to the White Sox on Sept. 17, he rebounded nicely in this one. Hearn has now allowed three or less runs in seven of his last eight starts while compiling a 3.92 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in those outings. He's projected to face the Angels in his next start Wednesday.

Hearn (6-5) allowed seven runs on eight hits and three walks over 3.1 innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Hearn gave up two runs through the first three innings before the White Sox bats came alive in the fourth. He allowed four runs in the inning, including a three-run double by Luis Robert, and was charged with another after he was removed from the game. Hearn recorded a 4.01 ERA while going 4-0 in his previous four outings. The 6-foot-6 southpaw now owns a 4.52 ERA with an 87:37 K:BB through 93.2 innings He's projected to face the Orioles on the road next week.

Hearn (6-4) allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out two across six innings, earning the win over the Athletics on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Hearn surrendered home runs to Yan Gomes and Matt Olson, accounting for three runs against him. He still cashed in a quality start to earn his fourth win in a row. Despite the recent success, he is having trouble with the long ball, giving up seven home runs in that four-game stretch. The 26-year-old has a 3.99 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with 83 strikeouts in 90.1 innings this season.
