New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.625 million deal. He made just $577,000 last season. While Matz doesn't have the upside of Jacob deGrom or Zack Wheeler, he finally was able to stay healthy in 2018 and make more than 22 starts. The left-hander was 5-11 with a 3.97 ERA, 1.25 [...]

Week 26 Waiver Wire: H2H Category Streamers rotoballer.com Fri 9/21/18 7:00 AM
I like to consider myself a pioneer of the streaming approach. I won a league about seven years ago by completely ignoring saves and just stacking up the starts each week. While streaming is undoubtedly more directly associated with pitching, there's plenty of value in streaming for offense as well.
Maybe you have a stacked roster and you can't drop anyone. But for those of us with a couple of guys on the roster fringes, it's never too early to look into targeting a specific player or two to [...]
Steven Matz Throws Five Scoreless Innings on Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 9/18/18 9:35 PM
New York Mets southpaw Steven Matz shut out the Philadelphia Phillies for five innings on Tuesday night. Matz allowed just two hits, but walked five batters to go along with four strikeouts. The lefty had to work his way out of jams all night, and the bullpen could not preserve the lead, giving Matz a no-decision. However, the outing lowered his ERA on the season to a respectable 4.03. His next start will likely come this weekend against the Washington Nationals.
