Steve Pearce Injured Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 7/12/18 5:16 PM
Boston Red Sox first baseman Steve Pearce (shin) was hit by a pitch on his left shin and left the game early on Thursday. Pearce initially stayed in the game, so his injury doesn't appear to be very serious. Since coming over from the Blue Jays in a trade, Pearce has been fantastic, going 11-for-24 (.458) with one homer and five RBI in eight games. It's safe to say his fantasy value has seen a significant boost in Beantown for a dynamite offense, even if he doesn't play every day. The Red Sox c[...]
Steve Pearce is a Solid Option on Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 7/12/18 2:36 PM
Boston Red Sox first baseman Steven Pearce will bat cleanup and take over first base duties against left-hander J.A. Happ on Thursday. Mitch Moreland normally plays first base, but will sit this one out. Pearce is hitting .357/.424/.964 with five home runs and 12 RBI against Happ in his career. Pearce has a .991 OPS against left-handed pitching this season. He needs to be in your DFS lineup on Thursday.
Steve Pearce Making Red Sox Debut, Batting Cleanup rotoballer.com Fri 6/29/18 11:26 AM
The Boston Red Sox did not have to wait long to get Steve Pearce into their lineup. After acquiring the 35-year-old last night, Pearce will be starting at first base on Friday against the New York Yankees. Mitch Moreland will be on the bench. Pearce is in an enviable position as he is batting in the cleanup spot. For this reason alone, he would be a serviceable bat to stream. It is too early to determine how often Pearce will be in a starting role, but he will be a great daily fantasy play whe[...]
Red Sox Acquire Steve Pearce from Blue Jays rotoballer.com Thu 6/28/18 6:41 PM
The Boston Red Sox got the right-handed batter they were looking for on Thursday evening as they swung a deal to get first baseman/outfielder Steve Pearce from the Toronto Blue Jays. Boston also received cash considerations in the deal while they gave up minor-league infielder Santiago Espinal. The 23-year-old Espinal projects to be a utility man in the majors. He has a .314 average with 32 RBI and seven home runs through 64 games at High-A Salem this season. As for Pearce, he greatly improves a[...]
Steve Pearce Picks Up Three Hits In Return rotoballer.com Sat 6/23/18 6:30 AM
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce finally returned to the lineup after being out with an oblique injury since May 3, and what a return it was. On Friday against the Los Angeles Angels, Pearce finished 3-for-4 with a double, his second three-hit outing of the season. It was a great return to be sure, but the biggest issue here is playing time. [...]
Steve Pearce Not Making Progress With Oblique rotoballer.com Fri 6/1/18 1:54 PM
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce has been out for roughly a month due to a strained oblique, and it sounds as though he'll be missing awhile more. Apparently, Pearce has barely shown any improvement, and as such, he's still some time away from even beginning baseball activities. Pearce was productive prior to the injury, slashing .273/.333/.485 with three home runs and five doubles across 66 at-bats. However, when he does eventually return, Pearce will come back to a crowded outfield f[...]
Steve Pearce Begins Throwing rotoballer.com Wed 5/23/18 5:55 AM
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce began throwing over the last few days, the first step back in his rehab. Pearce was placed on the disabled list on May 3 after being diagnosed with a strained oblique; recently he hadn't been cleared for baseball activities yet but this is obviously a step in the right direction. Pearce was off to a very good start across his first 72 plate appearances prior to the injury, slashing .273/.333/.485 with three home runs, 14 runs scored, and 13 RBI while hit[...]
Steve Pearce Not Ready For Baseball Activities Yet rotoballer.com Tue 5/15/18 5:35 PM
The Toronto Blue Jays had good injury updates on a few players Tuesday, but the latest on outfielder Steve Pearce (oblique) was not quite as fortunate. As of Tuesday, Pearce had not been cleared for baseball activities yet. Pearce has been on the disabled list due to an oblique strain since early May. [...]
Steve Pearce Lands on 10-Day Disabled List rotoballer.com Thu 5/3/18 4:47 PM
The Blue Jays placed outfielder Steve Pearce on the DL before the second half of their doubleheader on Thursday due to a left oblique strain. Through 21 games this season, Pearce has put up a respectable .270 BA with three homers and 13 RBI, but that production can easily be replaced on the wire. Even when healthy, Pearce should only be on rosters that are absolutely depleted in the outfield.
The Cut List (Week 3): Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 4/15/18 3:15 AM
Well, we're three weeks into the season and the picture is starting to clear up. Players who started off the year cold are heating up (Andrew Benintendi, Mike Moustakas, Steve Pearce) while guys like Josh Harrison and Nick Ahmed are slowly regressing to the mean.
We can start confidently making add/drop decisions, but don't expect to see the names of bonafide studs on these cuts lists. My add/drop philosophy is simple: cut average players on cold streaks and hold your studs.
The advice of[...]
