Transient No More, Kimbrel Lands on the North Side rotoballer.com Mon 6/10/19 6:30 AM

Our long national nightmare is over. Craig Kimbrel is no longer a closer without a home, as the Chicago Cubs signed him earlier this week to a three-year deal worth $43 Million, with a club option in 2022. [...]

Steve Cishek Picks Up Save No. 6 rotoballer.com Wed 6/5/19 11:28 PM

Chicago Cubs reliever Steve Cishek recorded his sixth save of the season on Wednesday versus the Rockies. Cishek allowed a double Trevor Story and then a RBI single to David Dahl, but settled down and retired the next three batters. The Cubs activated closer Pedro Strop on Tuesday and he recorded the save, but they didnt want to use him in back-to-back games just yet. Strop is the Cubs closer for now, but with the signing of Craig Kimbrel on [...]

Closers and Saves Report - Week 7 Waiver Wire rotoballer.com Fri 5/17/19 7:45 AM

Let's talk about a Crazy Little Thing Called Saves. (Count it) The Braves might have accidentally stumbled into one of the best closers in baseball. The Twins and Mariners continue to play the messy bullpen game, but it looks like maybe the Rays are settling into some kind of routine? The top two relievers in the Cubs bullpen are on the IL, but rather than a committee, someone has stepped up and seemingly taken the reins. The Phillies looked like they had a closer ready to go, then he disappeared[...]

Closers and Saves Report - Week 6 Waiver Wire rotoballer.com Fri 5/10/19 7:45 AM

Some pretty important moving and shaking went on this week in the bullpens across the league. Craig Kimbrel is still looking for somebody to love him (Queen reference in intro: ), and I'm still recommending anyone holding him in fantasy leagues without an NA spot lets him go. Thought it would be good to get that clear off the top.Diving into more current news, the Braves went into a full committee, the Twins dipped their toes in the committee pool, the A's escaped a bullpen disaster, and the Cub[...]

Steve Cishek Could Be Next in Line at Closer rotoballer.com Wed 5/8/19 6:36 PM

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Steve Cishek could be the next man up for the ninth-inning role on the north side. Manager Joe Maddon told reporters that he will go with a closer-by-committee. Pedro Strop (hamstring) has been placed on the injured list, so Cishek is likely the next man up. The two most likely candidates are Cishek and Carl Edwards Jr., but who knows with Maddon. Cishek is worth looking at in fantasy leagues, but maybe take the wait-and-see approach here.

Its never too early to start looking toward the fantasy baseball season, and Im here to continue RotoBallers position-by-position rankings analysis series for points league and head-to-head (H2H) formats with the ever-volatile relief pitcher position.
