Bieber (elbow) threw all of his pitches during his latest bullpen session on Aug. 31, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber's next bullpen session will be an "up and down" to simulate the breaks in between innings. If that goes off without a hitch, he's expected to be cleared to face hitters. Bieber has been sidelined since mid-July with right elbow inflammation, but he and the Guardians are still holding out hope that he could rejoin the rotation before the end of the season.

Bieber (elbow) extended his throwing distance off flat ground to 120 feet as of last Thursday, but he hasn't been cleared for mound work, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Bieber appears to be making progress in his recovery from right elbow inflammation, he's moving slowly through his throwing program since initiating it Aug. 2. The Guardians maintain hope that Bieber will be ready to contribute at some point next month, but based on where he currently stands in his recovery from the elbow issue, he might not be ready to go when he's first eligible to return from the 60-day injured list Sept. 10.

Bieber (elbow) was cleared to begin a throwing program Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber has reportedly been pain-free after picking up the ball for the first time since the All-Star break, but he's likely been limited to playing light catch thus far. The right-hander will gradually increase the distance of his long-toss throwing before graduating to bullpen sessions and then facing live hitters. Considering he still has multiple hurdles to clear in his recovery from right elbow inflammation and was placed on the 60-day injured list, Bieber won't be ready to rejoin the Guardians until around the middle of September in a best-case scenario.

The Guardians transferred Bieber (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber was placed on the IL coming out of the All-Star break after being diagnosed with right elbow inflammation. While the Guardians recently determined that he won't require surgery to address the injury, it's apparent that he's dealing with something more significant than minor swelling after he was sent in for a re-evaluation over the weekend. The right-hander is midway through a two-week non-throwing period, and based on the Guardians' decision to move him to the 60-day IL, he seems unlikely to resume baseball activities until at least some point in early August. Since Bieber won't be eligible for activation until Sept. 10 as a result of the transaction, fantasy managers in most redraft leagues are likely best off cutting the 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner in favor of a healthy option.

Bieber (elbow) will go two weeks without throwing but won't require surgery, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber landed on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right elbow inflammation and is considered week-to-week. While he'll require more than the minimum of 15 days on the IL given the length of his shutdown, it's encouraging that he won't require a procedure. A better idea of his return timetable will likely come into focus once he's able to resume throwing.

Bieber's official diagnosis which sent him to the injured list is right elbow inflammation, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber was initially reported to be dealing with a forearm injury, but the issue is evidently with his elbow. The fact that he's merely been diagnosed with inflammation rather than a strain is a good sign, though he does not yet have a clear timeline for his return.

Bieber (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber underwent an MRI on his forearm Friday, and while the Guardians have yet to announce any specific diagnosis for the righty, he's evidently dealing with something serious enough to keep him out for at least 15 days. Forearm issues are sometimes the first sign of an injury which requires major surgery, so there's a chance Bieber is out for far longer than that. Michael Kelly was recalled to take his place on the roster,

Bieber is getting an MRI on his forearm and will not make a start this turn through the rotation, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is ominous news, as Bieber had been tentatively scheduled to start Monday but can now be considered out indefinitely. Manager Terry Francona said Bieber's forearm has been irritable the last few weeks and he has struggled to bounce back from his last three or four starts, which is why his pitch count has been lower. Logan Allen will start Tuesday in Pittsburgh and the plan is to do a bullpen game Monday.

Bieber (5-6) took the loss Sunday against the Royals after allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out six over 6.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber held the Royals scoreless through four innings, but Kyle Isbel led off the fifth with a solo home run to center to knot things up at 1-1. Bieber then unraveled in the sixth, allowing the Royals to score three more runs while giving up two more extra-base hits. It's now the fourth time in five starts he's allowed at least four runs and he's given up at least one long ball in each of those starts. The 28-year-old has not lived up to the high draft price fantasy managers took on him before the season. He's striking out a career-low 19 percent of batters and has the third highest hard-hit rate among qualified pitchers. He'll head into the All-Star break with a 3.77 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 95:33 K:BB over 117 innings and will be in search of his first win since June 11.

Bieber allowed four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings, taking a no-decision versus Atlanta on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber's five walks were a season high, and this was just the third time in 18 starts he's failed to complete five innings. He's given up 13 runs over 23 innings during his four-start winless skid. The right-hander now has a 3.66 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 89:33 K:BB through 110.2 innings this season. He's tentatively projected for a favorable home start versus the Royals this weekend.
