Bieber (3-1) allowed a run on four hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a win against Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber coughed up a solo homer to Coby Mayo in the second inning but otherwise did not face much trouble. It was Bieber's first quality start since his season debut Aug. 22. He had given up eight runs over 11.2 frames (6.17 ERA) over his last two starts before Sunday's win. Bieber forced a season-high 18 whiffs on 97 total pitches. He now owns a 3.72 ERA with a 30:4 K:BB through 29 innings. Bieber's next start is projected to be in Kansas City next weekend.

Bieber came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Astros, giving up three runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander served up a two-run shot to Carlos Correa in the first inning and dealt with traffic on the basepaths in every inning he worked, but Bieber kept Toronto in the game until finally exiting after 94 pitches (53 strikes) with two on and two out in the sixth after allowing an RBI double to Yainer Diaz. Since his dazzling Blue Jays debut Aug. 22 in Miami, Bieber has had a little trouble with his command within the strike zone, posting a 16:3 K:BB over three starts and 17 innings but also a 5.29 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. He'll look to tighten things up in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Orioles.

Bieber (2-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Reds, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage against Bieber came in the second inning, where he allowed five runs on five hits. The right-hander settled in and held the Reds scoreless over his final four frames en route to an eventual 13-9 Toronto victory. Prior to Wednesday, Bieber had allowed just three runs over his first two starts (11.1 innings) following his return from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander is currently scheduled to face the Astros at home his next time out.

Bieber (1-1) took the loss against the Brewers on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six across 5.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber dazzled in his Blue Jay debut against the Marlins, and it was much of the same in Friday's contest against the best team in baseball. He set the tone by striking out the side in the first inning to set up a fierce pitching duel with Freddy Peralta. Bieber kept the Brewers off the board through the first five frames before yielding two runs in the sixth, including a solo homer to Andruw Monasterio. Even with the loss, Bieber has looked good in his first two starts since returning from Tommy John surgery, and his acquisition from the Guardians at the trade deadline has solidified the top of the Blue Jays' rotation that includes Kevin Gausman and Max Scherzer. Bieber is lined up to face the AL East rival Yankees in the Bronx next weekend.

Bieber is scheduled to make his next start next Friday against the Brewers, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber was excellent in his Toronto debut Friday, allowing one run on two hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over six innings. Though his next turn would ordinarily come up Wednesday against Minnesota, he'll instead take the mound against Milwaukee after a team off day Thursday, as manager John Schneider wants to give the hurler extra rest, per Mae. Eric Lauer will start Wednesday in what could be his final turn in the rotation.

Bieber (1-0) earned the win against the Marlins on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber gave up a solo shot in the third but was otherwise sharp in his first major-league start since last April. The 30-year-old tossed 55 of 87 pitches for strikes and racked up 15 whiffs, highlighted by seven on his slider. He looks fully healthy after a lengthy rehab stint and is lined up for a home matchup with the Twins next week.

The Blue Jays reinstated Bieber (elbow) from the 60-day injured list to start Friday's game at Miami.
EDGE Analysis
After recovering from Tommy John surgery, the right-hander is making his first start for Toronto and his first MLB appearance since April of 2024. Bieber finished his rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo in dominant form, as he threw 64 of 90 pitches for strikes over seven scoreless frames last Friday. The 30-year-old shouldn't have significant workload limitation given the lengthy rehab assignment, though the Blue Jays are still likely to exercise some caution with his usage. The 2020 AL Cy Young Award winner has a career 3.22 ERA and 10.2 K/9 in 136 big-league appearances, all of which to this point have come with Cleveland.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Bieber (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Friday's game in Miami, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bieber will be making his first start for the Blue Jays and his first at the major-league level since April 2024, as the right-hander has finally completed a long rehab from Tommy John surgery. The 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner has looked sharp during his rehab assignment, posting a 1.86 ERA and 37:3 K:BB over 29 innings covering seven starts. Bieber went seven scoreless frames and threw 90 pitches in his final rehab outing with Triple-A Buffalo this past Friday, so he should be ready to handle a fairly typical starter's workload in his Toronto debut.

Bieber (elbow) threw seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, allowing six hits and zero walks while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was dominant in what will almost certainly be his final rehab start as he completes his recovery from Tommy John surgery, firing 64 of 90 pitches for strikes. Per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, Bieber's fastball has averaged 92.5 mph during his rehab stint, 1.2 mph higher than his last fully healthy campaign in 2022, when he posted a 2.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 198:36 K:BB over 200 innings. Acquired from the Guardians in a trade deadline deal, Bieber is likely to make his Blue Jays debut -- and first big-league start since Apr. 2, 2024 -- next weekend in Miami. It's not yet clear, however, whether Toronto will shift to a six-man rotation at that point, or bump one of their current starters to the bullpen.

Bieber (elbow) built up to 78 pitches in a rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Andres Soto of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out six, continuing a tantalizing run that has seen him post a 3.06 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and stellar 23:2 K:BB over 17.2 rehab innings since the All-Star break. The Blue Jays want Bieber to make one more rehab start before they debut their big trade-deadline acquisition, with manager John Schneider indicating his target workload will be 85 pitches. The team has yet to decide whether it will move to a six-man rotation when Bieber is activated from the IL, but Schneider seems to be against it. "You don't want to have that long of a layoff [between starts]," he said Saturday. Bieber hasn't pitched in the majors since April 2, 2024, his last outing with the Guardians before undergoing Tommy John surgery, but it appears as though he'll be ready to handle a regular workload right away once he's activated.
