Brown is not starting Thursday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Brown is hitting .448 with a 1.174 OPS through his first eight big-league games, but he'll take a seat for Thursday's series finale against the Angels with lefty Jose Suarez serving as the primary pitcher for the opposition. Jurickson Profar is starting in left field and hitting fifth in this one.

Brown went 2-for-3 with a pair of triples, a walk, two RBI and two runs Tuesday in the Athletics' 7-5 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
With a 1.174 OPS through his first eight games in the majors, Brown has essentially picked up right where he left off in the Pacific Coast League since his Aug. 26 promotion. Brown has probably done enough at this point to stick as a large-side platoon outfielder over Robbie Grossman when the Athletics likely return Ramon Laureano (lower leg) from the injured list this weekend.

Brown is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting rookie will take a seat with southpaw J.A. Happ twirling for the Yankees. Jurickson Profar will check in for Brown in the corner outfield.

Brown went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in an 8-2 win over the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Though he wasn't included in the lineup with the Yankees starting southpaw CC Sabathia on the mound, Brown came off the bench to pinch hit for Chad Pinder in the sixth inning, when righty reliever Tommy Kahnle was on the bump. Brown plated the tying run with a double to center field and then added two more run-scoring hits later in the contest. He'll be back in the lineup Saturday as the Athletics' starting left fielder and No. 6 hitter and will look to extend his RBI streak to four games.

Brown went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored Thursday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Brown failed to collect a hit in his first at-bat but reached base in each of his next four plate appearances. He's started four straight contests since being called up on Aug. 26, benefiting from the absences of Ramon Laureano (lower leg) and Stephen Piscotty (ankle). This was his second multi-hit effort, and he's driven in at least one run in three of his four starts.

Brown will start in left field and bat fifth Thursday against the Royals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-handed slugger will remain in the lineup for a fourth consecutive game, with his inclusion in the starting nine Tuesday against a southpaw pitcher (Mike Montgomery) particularly noteworthy. Brown has gotten off to a modest start to his MLB career with three hits in 14 at-bats, but it appears he'll be in store for a full-time role in the Oakland outfield at least until Ramon Laureano (lower leg) or Stephen Piscotty (ankle) returns from the injured list.

Brown went 2-for-6 with an RBI single and two runs in a win over the Royals on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Making his big-league debut, Brown displayed some of the same prowess at the plate that he'd shown during a breakout campaign at Triple-A Las Vegas. Brown is slotted for some playing time in the outfield during Stephen Piscotty's stay on the injured list due to an ongoing ankle issue, and if he proves productive, he should stick at the big-league level the rest of the way with rosters expanding this coming Sunday.

Brown had his contract selected from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He's starting in left field and hitting sixth in his big-league debut against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Brown will join the big-league club ahead of Monday's series opener against Kansas City to provide the Athletics with some outfield depth while Stephen Piscotty -- who was sent to the IL in a corresponding move -- tends to an ankle injury. While the 27-year-old has yet to debut in the majors, he's compiled an impressive .297/.352/.634 slash line with 37 home runs at Triple-A this season. As a left-handed hitter, Brown could get a look in the strong side of a platoon in right field with Chad Pinder. Nick Martini was designated for assignment to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Brown.

The Athletics plan to select Brown's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of Monday's game against the Royals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Stephen Piscotty (ankle) landing on the injured list, Brown will move up to the big leagues and provide the Athletics with some reinforcement in the corner outfield. As a 27-year-old who has yet to debut in the majors, Brown isn't a prospect of much repute, but his .297/.352/.634 slash line and 37 home runs at Triple-A this season are eye-popping nonetheless. As a left-handed hitter, Brown could be given a look in the strong side of a platoon in right field with Chad Pinder.
