The journeyman southpaw tossed 63 of 102 pitches for strikes but was in line for his third loss of the year until the Washington offense finally showed a flicker of life against Edwin Diaz in the ninth inning. Nolin has managed a palatable 3.48 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 9:1 K:BB through 10.1 innings over his last two outings, and the organization has no better options for his rotation spot.

Nolin allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts through 5.1 innings, taking a no-decision in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Mets.

In just his third major league start since returning from a six-year hiatus, Nolin poured in his best outing of the season. He handled everybody not named Kevin Pillar on the night, as the only damage to his line came via two solo homers off the bat of the Mets' outfielder. While the six strikeouts are a season high for the well-travelled lefty, he has now allowed four home runs in just 12.1 innings.

Nolin (0-2) allowed three runs on six hits and three walks over four innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against Milwaukee.

Nolin's rough afternoon started right out of the gate with Kolten Wong taking him deep for a leadoff homer on Nolin's second pitch of the game. The 31-year-old southpaw then gave up a two-run triple to Wong in the fourth.
