Oakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy went 1-for-3 with his third homer of the season in a loss to the Padres Sunday. Murphy had some sleeper appeal coming into the season, but the rookie has been largely disappointing batting just .213 as the nine-hole hitter for Oakland. He is striking out 29.8 percent of the time and won't improve his batting average whiffing that much. He's a fine second catcher in two-catcher leagues but shouldn't be started in standard-size one-catcher leagues.
