Burke (3-7) took the loss against Houston on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 3.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Burke fell behind quickly, giving up three runs in the first frame (two of which came on a Christian Walker homer). Things didn't get much better for the right-hander from there, and he ended up surrendering a career-worst seven runs in the defeat. It was a sharp downturn after Burke rolled off a quality start in each of his previous three appearances entering Wednesday and gave up just five runs with a 17:5 K:BB over 19 frames during that span. He'll look to get back on track in what's projected to be a home start against St. Louis his next time out.

The 25-year-old turned in a solid May, allowing two earned runs or fewer in five of his six appearances while logging three quality starts. He'll take a 4.20 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 45:31 K:BB across 60 innings into a challenging home matchup against the Tigers next week.

Burke will follow opener Jared Shuster for Friday's game in Baltimore, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's game is getting pushed up a few hours and will start at 4:30 p.m. due to a poor weather forecast later in the night. Burke has been stingy in May with a 2.67 ERA in 27 innings, but he has a 19:19 K:BB and 1.44 WHIP over that span. He is coming off his best outing of the year, as he picked up a win while striking out a season-high six in six innings of one-run ball against Texas.

His lone blemish came in the sixth on a Jake Burger RBI double, but Burke came away with the win and quality start after generating 10 whiffs and 19 first-pitch strikes on just 89 pitches (54 strikes). Burke (2-5) took the loss Saturday, coughing up six runs (five earned) on seven hits and five walks over 4.2 innings as the White Sox were downed 7-3 by the Cubs. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
It's the third time in nine starts that Burke has been tagged for at least five earned runs, and the 25-year-old righty's control continues to desert him -- he's issued a career-worst five free passes in back-to-back outings, and multiple walks in eight straight. Burke will carry a 4.69 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 33:27 K:BB through 48 innings into his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Rangers.

Burkes did not factor in the decision during Sunday's win over Miami. He allowed a run on four hits and five walks over four innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Burke didn't give up a run until the fourth inning but he was not efficient enough to pitch into the fifth frame. He threw just 49 of 91 pitches for strikes while issuing a season-high five free passes. Burke did not walk a batter through 10.1 innings in his first two starts of the season but has since posted an unsightly 25:22 K:BB over his last seven appearances. He'll carry a 4.15 ERA into his next outing, which is lined up to be a road matchup with the Cubs next weekend.

Burke allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out two in 6.1 innings Tuesday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Burke held the Royals scoreless and without an extra-base hit through five innings until Kyle Isbel took him deep to lead off the sixth. Burke finished the frame and exited in line for a win that was eventually squandered by the bullpen in the ninth inning. Burke has now posted back-to-back quality starts and has given up three runs or fewer while going at least five innings in four straight outings. He'll aim to close out a strong two-start week at home this weekend against the Marlins.

Burke (2-4) earned the win against the Brewers on Thursday, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out five over six scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Three of the six baserunners Burke allowed came in the first inning, but he was able to escape a bases-loaded situation after getting Rhys Hoskins to fly out. Burke proceeded to retire the minimum number of batters in four of the next five frames and came away with his second quality start of the season on 94 pitches (58 strikes) while generating 10 whiffs. His efforts Thursday dropped his ERA and WHIP to 4.91 and 1.36, respectively, over 33 innings. Burke will look to make it two wins in a row in his next start, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Royals.

EDGE Analysis
Entering the game to begin the second inning behind opener Tyler Gilbert, Burke kept the A's off the board for three frames before the wheels began to fall off. The 25-year-old righty tossed 86 pitches (49 strikes) before getting the hook as he lost his fourth straight decision, a stretch in which he's stumbled to a 7.71 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 17:11 K:BB over 21 innings. Burke will try to get back in the win column in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next week against the Brewers.
