Scott Elbert (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment on Friday.
It's not clear yet which minor league affiliate he'll be assigned to. Elbert had two surgeries on his left elbow over the offseason and figures to need at least a few week's worth of games before being activated.

Dodgers placed LHP Scott Elbert on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 22, with a left elbow injury.
Elbert has undergone multiple elbow surgeries in the past year and is still in rehab mode. The 27-year-old reliever could return to the Dodgers by late April if he can avoid setbacks.

Scott Elbert (elbow) resumed his throwing program Wednesday following a platelet-rich plasma injection earlier in the week.
Elbert had two surgeries on his left elbow during the offseason and is a candidate to open the season on the 60-day disabled list. That would mean he wouldn't be eligible to return to the Dodgers until late May.

Elbert has undergone multiple elbow surgeries in the past year and is still basically in rehab mode. He is expected to begin the season on the 15-day disabled list.

Elbert is scheduled to throw again on Friday as he gradually increases his workload. The 27-year-old has had two elbow surgeries since last September and is expected to begin the season on the disabled list, but he could be ready by late April if he can avoid setbacks.

Scott Elbert played catch Wednesday for the first time since undergoing a second elbow surgery in January.
Elbert had arthroscopic surgery last September but then required another operation after the elbow wasn't healing as expected. If he doesn't have any setbacks, he could rejoin the Dodgers' bullpen by late April.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Tuesday that Scott Elbert (elbow) could be ready by late April.
Elbert underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow last September. The southpaw posted a superb 2.20 ERA in 32 2/3 innings last season for the Dodgers before the operation and will have a spot waiting for him in the bullpen once he's ready.

Scott Elbert underwent a left elbow arthroscopy on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angles.
Elbert can start physical therapy in three days but won't be cleared to resume throwing for six weeks. Which means he is highly unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2013 regular season. The 27-year-old lefty posted a superb 2.20 ERA in 32 2/3 innings last summer for Los Angeles before undergoing elbow surgery in mid-September. Wednesday's procedure was his second in four months.

It was an arthroscopic procedure -- just a cleanup, in other words -- so Elbert should have a normal winter. He posted a 2.20 ERA in 32 2/3 innings this season.
