Gennett went 1-for-3 with a double in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Gennett is batting just .235 since joining the Giants, but his power is beginning to show with three extra-base hits in 17 at-bats (.529 slugging percentage). The 29-year-old was expected to take over at the keystone after coming over in a deadline deal, and that switch has officially been made after incumbent second baseman Joe Panik was DFA'd prior to Tuesday's contest. Gennett will now operate on the strong side of a platoon with Donovan Solano. He could quickly regain fantasy value as he becomes more comfortable following a first half marred by injury.

Gennett went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-5 win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
It didn't take long for Gennett to bop his first homer with his new club, as he was able to go deep in just his second game since joining San Francisco at the trade deadline. The 29-year-old has started both of his games with the Giants at second base, and it appears he has immediately displaced Joe Panik as the club's primary option at the keystone.

Gennett started at the keystone and went 1-for-4 with a double in Friday's 5-4 loss to Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Gennett made his first start in a Giants uniform, delivering his first extra-base hit with his new club in the debut. The 29-year-old is slashing just .219/.237/.274 in 22 games since returning from a lengthy absence due to a groin injury. Despite his slow start, Gennett's tremendous success during his two years in Cincinnati (.303 with 50 home runs over 295 games) should give him an immediate leg up over the struggling Joe Panik. There are still question marks regarding whether the second baseman can return to his previous form, and also whether the move to cavernous Oracle Park will eat into his power. That said, Gennett is worth a gamble in deeper formats for owners in need of new life at the keystone.

Gennett is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being acquired from the Reds shortly before Wednesday's trade deadline, Gennett will get at least one day to get acclimated with his new organization before being thrust into the lineup. Joe Panik will man the keystone in the series finale in Philadelphia, but Gennett should take over as the Giants' primary second baseman beginning this weekend in Colorado.

Gennett was traded from the Reds to the Giants on Wednesday in exchange for a player to be named later, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gennett has been limited to just 20 games this season due to a groin injury, struggling to a .212/.232/.258 slash line in those appearances. The Giants are hoping the second baseman can rediscover his form from his breakout campaign in 2018, when he slashed .310/.357/.490 with 23 home runs, 30 doubles and 92 RBI in 154 games. It remains to be seen how the Giants will divvy up playing time between Gennett and Joe Panik.

Gennett is not in the lineup Saturday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday's benching appears to be just a routine day off for the second baseman, who has struggled to find a rhythm since returning from injury in late June. Gennett carries a slash line of just .185/.211/.222 in 17 games since his return. Josh VanMeter is starting at second base, batting fifth.

Gennett is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gennett will sit for the second time in three days while Jose Peraza receives the nod at the keystone. After back-to-back huge seasons for Cincinnati, Gennett has had a tough time finding a rhythm at the plate since returning from the groin injury that sidelined him for the first three months of the 2019 campaign. Through 14 games, Gennett has managed only seven hits -- six singles and a double -- while walking once and striking out 14 times across 45 plate appearances.

Gennett is not starting Saturday against St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
After missing nearly three months with a groin injury, Gennett has struggled to a .154/.195/.179 line in 12 games. Jose Peraza gets the start at second base in his absence.

Gennett isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Gennett started back-to-back games after returning from an illness, but he's in line for a day off. Derek Dietrich draws the start at the keystone and will bat fifth in Gennett's stead.

Gennett is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Gennett missed the first two games of the second half due to illness but has started the last two contests. Tuesday's off day appears to be simply a routine one. Derek Dietrich starts at second base in his absence.
