Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Cardinals will recall Sam Freeman from Triple-A Memphis before Friday's game. It will be Freeman's major league debut when he gets into a game, as he was just called up to Memphis a couple weeks ago. The southpaw holds a 2.31 ERA and 17/8 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A this season while holding left-handed batters to a .179 average. He'll give the Cards another lefty in the bullpen alongside Marc Rzepczynski.
