Jones (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has been out since getting hit on the hand by a pitch back on July 1, but it seems like he's nearing a return to the big-league club. No word has come forth as to how long he'll remain with the River Cats, although given the other injuries plaguing the team in the majors, it seems likely that he'll be back sooner rather than later.

Jones was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a wrist contusion Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Jones hasn't played since July 1 with the injury, so this move will be backdated the maximum three days. As such, it's possible that Jones could return on July 14, the club's first day back in action after the All-Star break. It's entirely possible Jones would have remained active if not for the break; as is, he could miss just three additional games in the best-case scenario.

Jones (hand) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has been out for the last three games after getting struck by a pitch during Sunday's extra-inning contest with the Pirates. There has not been any new information regarding the third baseman's condition, but the team will opt to give Jae-Gyun Hwang another start at the hot corner for the series finale. Jones could potentially be available off the bench, although the Giants may choose to give him extra rest instead.

Jones (hand) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although most reports seem to indicate that Jones is nearing a return to the lineup, the Giants will play things safely for one more night by keeping him out for the fourth game in a row. Jae-Gyun Hwang will take over at third base in his stead.

Jones (hand) remains out of the lineup Tuesday, but may be available to pinch hit, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones last appeared in the lineup Saturday, where he forced to exit after getting hit on the hand with a pitch. After getting held out Sunday and Monday, the plan is to take batting practice Tuesday to test out how the hand feels. If everything checks out, Jones could be available off the bench, but appears in line to be back in action soon regardless. In the meantime, Jae-Gyun Hwang will make his fourth start in the last five games at third base for the Fourth of July showdown with the Tigers.

X-rays on Jones' hand came back negative, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones was lifted from Saturday's extra-innings win in the 10th inning after getting hit by a pitch. While initial X-rays came back clean, the Giants will send him for some more tests Sunday as precaution. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Jones is starting at third base and batting seventh against the Pirates on Saturday, Henry Schulman of The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
After giving way to Jae-Gyun Hwang over the past couple of games, Jones will return to man the hot corner. Manager Bruce Bochy seems content giving both players playing time in Eduardo Nunez's (hamstring) absence, which effectively handicaps both of their fantasy values. The 23-year-old has just one hit in 19 at-bats since his call up, so he will need to pick things up or risk a demotion back to the minors once Nunez is activated sometime in early July.

Jones had his contract purchased from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The struggling Aaron Hill was designated for assignment to clear room on the roster for Jones. The 23-year-old, who slashed .299/.390/.553 with 10 homers in 53 games with Sacramento before being promoted, should be in line for regular playing time at third base with Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) on the DL.
