Dixon cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon was optioned to Triple-A in mid-July and has now lost his place on San Diego's 40-man roster after the organization's additions at the trade deadline. The 31-year-old has made 33 appearances with the Friars this year and has posted a .573 OPS in 79 at-bats.

San Diego optioned Dixon to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon has slashed just .203/.244/.329 in 33 major-league games (86 plate appearances) this season. Luis Campusano (thumb) is coming off the 60-day injured list and the Padres have also called up position players Taylor Kohlwey and Alfonso Rivas ahead of Tuesday night's series opener in Toronto.

Dixon is starting at designated hitter and batting eighth Friday in Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Left-hander Cristopher Sanchez is getting the start for the Phillies, so the Padres will put Dixon's right-handed bat at DH. The 31-year-old has just a .437 OPS versus lefties this season in the majors but has posted an .876 OPS against southpaws in 2023 at Triple-A El Paso.

Dixon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-6 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon padded the Padres' lead in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old remains confined to a part-time role, leading to inconsistent playing time. He's struck out 10 times while going just 4-for-26 (.154) over his last 10 contests. For the season, he owns a .212/.259/.365 slash line with two homers, five RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base through 58 plate appearances.

Dixon went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 10-1 victory over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon has swung the bat well of late, going 7-for-19 (.368) with a 1.066 OPS over his last seven games. While the 31-year-old isn't likely to play enough to have value in shallower fantasy formats, he's been solid off the bench for the Padres, slashing .243/.310/.378 with a home run and three RBI through 42 plate appearances.

Dixon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon will retreat to the bench after he had manned first base in three of the Padres' last four games, with all of his starts coming against left-handed pitching. The 31-year-old looks like he could handle a short-side platoon role for the Padres while Manny Machado (hand) is on the 10-day injured list.

Dixon went 1-for-2 with a solo home run Tuesday in a 7-4 win over Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon got the start at first base and swatted a 403-foot solo homer to center field in the fourth inning. It was his first long ball in eight games this season and his first major-league home run since he played with Detroit in 2019. Dixon went deep 15 times that year but spent most of the following two seasons in Japan before logging most of his time last year in San Diego's minor-league system. He's smacked 30 homers over his last 76 contests between Double-A and Triple A across two seasons, but his playing time in the majors has been limited and doesn't figure to increase significantly given the Padres' loaded roster.

San Diego recalled Dixon from Triple-A El Paso on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon is hitting seventh and playing first base against the Red Sox on Friday. The veteran infielder/outfielder has been up and down with the club for the majority of the 2023 campaign, and it appears he'll be taking the place of Manny Machado (hand) on the roster.

The Padres optioned Dixon to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Dixon was up with the Padres for the weekend as the big club's 27th man for its two-game series with the Giants in Mexico City. He didn't appear in either contest and should now settle back into a near-everyday role with El Paso during Pacific Coast League play.
