Walker will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Rockies at Oracle Park, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Between 32 outings in the majors and at Triple-A Sacramento this season, Walker hasn't covered more than three innings on any occasion, so the Giants will likely have him work a frame or two before turning the game over to the bullpen. Manager Gabe Kapler hasn't formally appointed a primary pitcher to work behind Walker, but Sean Manaea and Jakob Junis should both be capable of giving the Giants multiple innings, if needed.

Walker will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the fourth time in less than two weeks, Walker will handle the opener role for the Giants before turning the game over to the bullpen. Walker hasn't recorded more than five outs in any of his prior three "starts," so he shouldn't be expected to work more than once through the Toronto lineup. The Giants haven't designated a primary pitcher out of the bullpen behind Walker, but starter Alex Wood would be available on his normal four days' rest if manager Gabe Kapler wants to go that route.

Walker did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk over one inning against Arizona. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Walker opened the game for San Francisco and surrendered a solo home run to Ketel Marte in the second at-bat of the contest after leaving a slider over the middle of the plate. The right-hander struck out two in the frame, but also allowed a double to Christian Walker followed by a walk to Lourdes Gurriel before he was eventually able to get out of the inning. Walker has now allowed a solo home run in two of his last three appearances. He is, however, still holding a strong 1.96 ERA after Saturday's outing.

Walker will serve as the opening pitcher in Saturday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Walker allowed two walks and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning versus the Padres on Wednesday in his last turn as an opener. He'll likely pitch just an inning or two before giving way to a bulk reliever, most likely Keaton Winn or Tristan Beck.

Walker will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher in Wednesday's game against the Padres, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
With John Brebbia (lat) recently landing on the injured list, Walker has seemingly stepped in for him as manager Gabe Kapler's preferred opening pitcher. After starting in Monday's 7-4 win and covering 1.2 innings, Walker will handle opener duties for the second time in the series with the Padres. Based on the recent workloads of the Giants' other bullpen arms, Sean Manaea or Sean Hjelle look like the top candidate to serve as a bulk relievers behind Walker.

Walker will serve as the opener during Monday's game against the Padres, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Walker's first 11 major-league appearances have come as a reliever, and he's posted a 1.23 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 14.2 innings. The right-hander hasn't tossed more than 51 pitches in any outing this year, but he'll begin Monday's series opener on the mound while Sean Manaea likely serves as a bulk reliever.

Walker (2-0) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win Tuesday over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Walker pitched the second inning ahead of Sean Manaea's bulk-relief outing after John Brebbia opened the game. This was Walker's sixth scoreless appearance in seven outings, and he's allowed zero baserunners four times. The right-hander has a 1.04 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB through his first 8.2 big-league innings. The Giants currently have a rather crowded bullpen while only three starters are healthy, but Walker's pitching well enough to keep his low-leverage spot for a while.

Walker (1-0) allowed three hits in a scoreless inning to pick up the win Sunday over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Walker pitched the sixth inning in his major-league debut, alternating between outs and singles. He stayed on to begin the seventh but was pulled after giving up a leadoff single. Walker pitched to a 0.89 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB over 20.1 innings across 15 appearances (three starts) for Triple-A Sacramento prior to his call-up Friday. He'll likely serve as a low-leverage reliever while he's with the Giants.
