Pepiot was excellent Sunday, holding Toronto to just three singles in his first scoreless outing this season. While the win was Pepiot's first since April 26, he's now delivered four consecutive quality starts. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.55 with a 1.23 WHIP and 52:19 K:BB across 11 starts (63.1 innings) this year. Pepiot will look to keep the momentum going in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Houston.

Pepiot's start was better than the final line would suggest, outside of a three-run second inning by the Astros. All three runs came with two outs in the frame, starting with a solo shot by Victor Caratini. Pepiot has now produced six quality starts in 10 appearances this season, including three straight and five in his last six outings. Despite the overall consistency, he owns a disappointing 3.99 ERA with a 47:18 K:BB through 56.1 frames. Pepiot is currently lined up for a home start against Toronto this weekend.

Pepiot managed to keep the Blue Jays off the board through the first five innings, but he gave up a three-run homer to Alejandro Kirk in the sixth and was unable to get enough run support from the Rays' hitters to avoid the loss. Pepiot has logged a quality start in four of his last five appearances but has taken the loss in three of those outings. The 27-year-old right-hander has a 3.47 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 49.1 innings this season and is lined up to face the Astros at home next week.

Pepiot bounced back well after surrendering six runs over six innings in his last start Tuesday against the Red Sox. One of the right-hander's biggest problems this season has been the long ball, and he surrendered two more Sunday. Trent Grisham launched a solo shot in the first inning before Cody Bellinger went deep with a solo homer of his own in the top of the sixth.
