Hendrix (4-1) picked up the win in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Cubs, giving up one hit over 1.1 scoreless innings.

The 26-year-old rookie entered the game to begin the seventh inning and held Chicago in check before Cincinnati pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the frame. Hendrix has been far from effective this season, posting a 5.68 ERA and 27:14 K:BB through 25.1 innings, but the potent Reds' offense has given him some vulture value.

Hendrix (3-1) was tagged with the win Sunday against the Rockies. He struck the only batter he faced.

EDGE Analysis

Hendrix came into the game to record the final out of the fifth inning and that's exactly what he did, as the righty struck out Dom Nunez while having runners in both second and third base. This should be a nice confidence-booster for the 26-year-old reliever, though, as he had allowed runs in four of his previous six appearances.

Hendrix (2-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Brewers, allowing an earned run on two walks and recording a strikeout over one inning. He also uncorked two wild pitches.

EDGE Analysis

Tasked with preserving a 1-1 tie when he entered in the fifth, Hendrix ultimately allowed the go-ahead run to cross the plate by virtue of putting the first two men he faced on before allowing an RBI double play to Christian Yelich. The rookie right-hander has had his share of growing pains recently, as he's now pitched to a 6.43 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across the seven innings covering his last seven appearances.

Hendrix was called up by Cincinnati on Friday.

Hendrix has yet to pitch above the Double-A level and threw just 19.1 innings there in 2019, but he's pitched well at nearly every minor-league stop. The 26-year-old righty owns a 2.55 ERA and a 32.2 percent strikeout rate in 172.2 career minor-league innings. He'll likely pitch in a low-leverage role for now.

Hendrix (chest) is listed among the Reds' available relievers for Monday's Cactus League finale against the Mariners, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
