Gusto allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Athletics on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto got through four scoreless innings before serving up a solo shot to JJ Bleday in his fifth and final frame. That homer was the first he allowed in four starts, but he nonetheless impressed in one of his best outings this season. Gusto racked up a career-high eight punchouts and induced 12 whiffs while throwing 59 of 87 pitches for strikes. He's registered an outstanding 15:2 K:BB while allowing only three runs over 11 frames across his past two starts.

Gusto will move up a day to start Monday against the Athletics, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto's next turn had been scheduled for Tuesday in the second game of the series in Sacramento, but he'll take the ball a day earlier as a replacement for the injured Lance McCullers (foot). The right-handed Gusto last pitched Wednesday, so he will be starting on a normal four days' rest and is set for a second start later this week versus the Angels.

Gusto (4-3) earned the win over the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto got plenty of run support, as Houston held a 7-0 lead through four innings. The right-hander gave up a pair of runs in the fifth, but he capped his outing with a scoreless sixth to record his first career quality start. Gusto also racked up a career-high seven strikeouts and notched 11 whiffs. He's settled into a rotation spot with several Houston starters dealing with injuries, and Gusto's next start is projected to be a road matchup against the Athletics.

Gusto (3-3) took the loss Wednesday against Pittsburgh, allowing three runs on eight his and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto's final line ultimately could have looked a lot worse, as the Pirates got multiple men on base in each of the first three innings. The 26-year-old Gusto has failed to make it out of the fifth inning in three consecutive starts. His ERA sits at 4.78 with a 1.64 WHIP and 45:21 K:BB across 43.1 innings. Despite his struggles, Gusto could remain in a starting role while the Astros deal with numerous injuries in their rotation. He'd tentatively line up for a home matchup with the White Sox next week.

Gusto didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rays after allowing two runs on four hits and three walks in 3.2 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto was already at 31 pitches after one inning, which effectively set back the rest of his outing. The right-hander has really struggled to provide length for the Astros this season, as he's thrown at least five innings just twice among his seven starts and has a shaky 5.83 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB over 29.1 innings as a starter. Working in Gusto's favor is a soft matchup that tentatively lines up for next week against the Pirates, who own a dismal .639 OPS in the month of May, but he remains difficult to trust for fantasy purposes.

Gusto is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Rays in Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto will be making his second straight turn through the rotation and seventh start of the season after he struck out six and allowed two earned runs over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Mariners his last time out Friday. The righty owns a 5.96 ERA and 28:10 K:BB in 25.2 innings as a starter this season, but despite his poor numbers, he could have an extended runway in the rotation due to Hayden Wesneski (elbow) and Ronel Blanco (elbow) recently getting shut down for the season and with Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) and Luis Garcia (elbow) not especially close to returning from the injured list.

Gusto didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Mariners after allowing two runs on four hits and three walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
While Gusto tied a season worst in walks, he did match his season best in punchouts. The 26-year-old right-hander generated only five whiffs Friday, and he's tossed at least five innings just twice among his six starts this season. Gusto has struggled with a 5.96 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB over 25.2 innings as a starter this year but is set for a soft matchup next versus the Rays, who are batting just .228 across their last 25 contests.

Gusto is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Mariners in Houston, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Houston optioning southpaw Brandon Walter to Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday and with righty Ronel Blanco (elbow) set for further evaluation and not in line to make his next start this weekend, Gusto will be called upon to fill an opening in the rotation. After getting roughed up for seven earned runs over 2.1 innings in a loss to the Royals on May 12 in his fifth start of the season, Gusto shifted back to a relief role last week, but his stay in the bullpen will be a brief one. Altogether, Gusto owns a 4.65 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB across 31 innings over his 11 total appearances on the season.

Gusto threw a scoreless inning, allowing two walks while striking out one Saturday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Gusto was a candidate to start Sunday's game, but his recent struggles -- he's allowed 10 runs (seven earned) across his last four innings -- appear to have cost him his spot in the rotation. Framber Valdez is likely to start Sunday's game, though that has not yet been confirmed.

Gusto (3-2) took the loss Monday against Kansas City, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks over 2.1 innings. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The Houston right-hander looked rusty in this 68-pitch outing, as he hadn't pitched since May 4 and was filling in for Hayden Wesneski (elbow). The floodgates opened in the second when Michael Massey opened the frame with a solo homer, fueling a four-run, five-hit inning. Gusto fully unraveled in the third, as he allowed another run and departed after loading the bases. Reliever Tayler Scott would allow two additional runs to score. Despite this rough performance, Gusto should continue to occupy Wesneski's rotation spot while the latter is on the injured list. Gusto is currently in line to make his next start at Texas this weekend.
