Goins was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Goins was activated off the 15-day DL on Monday, and started that day's game at shortstop before being demoted Tuesday. He went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Astros, and with Devon Travis and Darwin Barney ahead of him on the depth chart, Goins will go down to Buffalo for the time being.

Goins (forearm) was activated from the 15-day DL and will hit ninth in Monday's game against the Astros, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Troy Tulowitzki day-to-day with a finger injury, Goins will get the start at shortstop in his first game since the end of June. The former fourth-round pick is hitting just .176 with three home runs and 12 RBI through 59 games for the Blue Jays this season.

Goins (forearm) is 12-for-42 (.318) with one extra-base hit during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Goins has been eligible to come off the 15-day DL for more than a week now, but the team has decided to keep the tag on him. It doesn't appear the problem has anything to do with the infielder's health, so there's something else going on here. Goins struggled mightily before being injured and landing on the DL back on July 2, and utility infielder Darwin Barney -- who is a very similar player to Goins -- has been the better of the two this season. It's very possible that the 28-year-old Goins will stay put in the minors for a while.

Goins appears to be on track to make his return on he's eligible to come off the DL on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Goins has been out since June 29 when he experienced tightness in his right forearm during a rare pitching appearance in a game against the Indians. Goins began a rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday and he's eligible to come off the DL on Sunday for the final game of the Jays' series in Oakland. However, he was playing poorly before hitting the DL, and middle-infielders Troy Tulowitzki and Devon Travis are healthy again, which means Goins won't have much fantasy value.

Goins (forearm) will compete in his first rehab game Thursday with Triple-A Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Goins is likely to return to the club by the time he is eligible to be activated on July 17, after being placed on the 15-day disabled list with forearm tightness at the beginning of this month. The 28-year-old second baseman has played in 58 games for the Blue Jays this year, hitting .176/.216/.308 with three home runs and 12 RBI.

Goins (forearm) will begin to throw again Saturday, freelance writer John Lott reports.
EDGE Analysis
Goins was placed on the 15-day DL on July 2 after making an appearance on the mound during a 19-inning game against the Indians. He went down with forearm tightness with a strain on the inside of his elbow, but should be able to return by the time he is eligible to be activated on July 17.

Goins (forearm) has been placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday with forearm tightness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Goins made an appearance on the mound during Friday's 19-inning affair with the Indians, and his forearm tightness could probably be traced back to his time on the hill. He has slowly been phased out of the starting lineup in recent weeks, having only started one game since June 17.

Goins scored as a pinch-runner on a wild pitch in Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The infielder is seemingly being faded out of the Jays' game plan altogether. After being the starting second baseman for a majority of the season, Goins has only started in one game since June 17, and he's only played in five of the team's last ten contests. With Devon Travis and Troy Tulowitzki both healthy for the first time this year, Goins spot on the roster is a delicate one to say the least.

Goins appears to be the top candidate from the Jays infield to be sent to the minors once Troy Tulowitzki (quad) returns from the 15-day DL, the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team's infield is simply overcrowded with the return of Devon Travis, and manager John Gibbons is going to have to trim the group. When spring training began, Goins was the starting second baseman, an important part of a returning starting lineup that produced a MLB high in runs scored the season before. However, the 28-year-old has struggled immensely this season as he's slashing just .165/.211/.289 through 129 plate appearances.

Goins went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI Wednesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old Goins snapped an 0-for-13 skid with a double against the Yankees, although he has hit for .136 over his past 10 games. Goins is not known for his offense, but it's no secret he needs to do better at the plate.
