Robbie Ray Scheduled To Start Wednesday rotoballer.com Mon 6/25/18 2:07 PM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray (oblique) will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday to start against the Marlins. Ray was scheduled to make one more rehab start for Triple-A Reno, but Clay Buchholz's injury forced Arizona to accelerate Ray's timetable. Ray only threw 66 pitches in his last rehab start, so he will likely be limited in his first start since April. Despite the good matchup, owners should take a wait-and-see approach before putting Ray back in their lineups.
Matt Koch Demoted To Triple-A rotoballer.com Wed 6/20/18 5:37 PM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Matt Koch was demoted to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday night. Koch will return to the Aces after two months of filling the rotation spot left by the injured Robbie Ray. Koch was inconsistent in his time with Arizona, finishing with a 4.40 ERA and 38 strikeouts across 71 2/3 innings. His demotion means that Shelby Miller will likely make his return from the DL on Monday.
Robbie Ray Dominant In Rehab Start rotoballer.com Tue 6/19/18 1:51 PM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray (oblique) was dominant in an abbreviated rehab start on Tuesday, giving up one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over 4 1/3 innings. It was a great improvement over his previous rehab start, where he gave up five runs (two earned) over 2 1/3 innings at Single-A Visalia. If the Diamondbacks follow the schedule they previously laid out for him, Ray will likely make one more rehab start before re-joining the big club in Arizona. [...]
Matt Koch Bounces Back With Win Against Mets rotoballer.com Fri 6/15/18 7:16 AM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Matt Koch (5-3) picked up the win on Thursday, giving up two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out five across six strong innings. Koch was able to bounce back against a weak Mets lineup after struggling at Coors Field in his previous start. Koch is a solid pitcher to stream in good matchups, but he may lose his spot in the rotation with the impending returns of Robbie Ray and Shelby Miller.
Robbie Ray Struggles In Rehab Start rotoballer.com Fri 6/15/18 7:09 AM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray (oblique) struggled in his rehab start for High-A Visalia on Thursday, allowing five runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out three. Ray's fastball sat at 91-93 mph throughout the start. Ray looked rusty, but it's not unexpected, as it was his first game action since April 29. Ray will likely make at least one more rehab start before rejoining the Arizona rotation sometime in late June or early July.
Robbie Ray On Track to Begin Rehab Assignment Thursday rotoballer.com Mon 6/11/18 3:37 PM
Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray (oblique) is on track to pitch in High-A Visalia on Thursday after throwing a bullpen session Monday. Ray has been out since April 29 with an oblique strain and will need multiple rehab assignments before he makes his return. It is possible for Ray to return in June if his rehab outings all go well. Ray got off to a slow start this season and sits at a 4.88 ERA, 1.52 [...]
Robbie Ray Slated To Face Batters Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 6/9/18 8:00 AM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray (oblique) is scheduled to face live hitters on Saturday. Ray will be facing hitters for the first time since straining his oblique on April 29th. If there are not setbacks during the live batting practice, Ray is expected to move on to a simulated game or a rehab assignment next week. His current progress puts him on track for a return close to the end of June.
Matt Koch Shuts Down Marlins rotoballer.com Mon 6/4/18 6:33 AM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Matt Koch (4-3) was brilliant on Sunday, shutting out the Marlins over seven innings while giving up just three hits and striking out six. It was by far Koch's best start of the season, and a nice bounce back effort after allowing five runs to the Reds in his last start. The six strikeouts represented a season a season high for Koch, who now holds a 3.76 ERA. Koch will need to compete with the resurgent Clay Buchholz for a rotation spot when Robbie Ray returns from t[...]
