Tapia is starting in right field and batting leadoff for the Red Sox on Friday in Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
It's his second day in a row filling in for Alex Verdugo (illness). Tapia stole two bases and scored three runs in Thursday's win over the Blue Jays.

Tapia went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, one RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored in Thursday's 11-5 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Tapia has logged all three of his steals this season in three games in May. The outfielder has gone 4-for-12 (.333) with two doubles over his last four contests. He'll need to keep up this improved hitting to start clawing back some playing time -- he filled in for Alex Verdugo (illness) in Thursday's game, so there's not a long-term path to playing time opening up yet. Tapia is batting .235 with a .716 OPS, one home run, three steals, five RBI and eight runs scored through 39 plate appearances.

Tapia is starting in right field and batting leadoff for the Red Sox on Thursday versus the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tapia is taking Alex Verdugo's spot in right field and in the leadoff spot. The veteran outfielder has just a .690 OPS across 19 games so far this season.

Tapia remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in Baltimore, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tapia appeared to be a potential candidate to see regular starts against right-handed pitching in the wake of Adam Duvall fracturing his wrist April 9, but Jarren Duran has instead taken claim of a strong-side platoon role in center field following his April 17 call-up. Duran will remain in the lineup Monday for his seventh start in eight games, while Tapia has started just twice during that stretch.

Tapia will start in right field and bat leadoff Monday against the Angels, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Tapia is back in the lineup after he was stuck on the bench in each of the past four games while Boston opposed left-handed starting pitchers on every occasion. Though he likely won't play right field or handle leadoff duties with any sort of regularity -- Alex Verdugo, who is resting Monday, typically handles both of those roles -- Tapia could end up settling into the strong side of a platoon in center field while Adam Duvall (wrist) is out indefinitely. Tapia will face competition for that job from the lefty-hitting Jarren Duran, while right-handers Rob Refsnyder and Enrique Hernandez represent the short-side platoon options.

Tapia will start in center field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Since Adam Duvall fractured his wrist Sunday, Rob Refsnyder picked up both of the starts in center field in the first two games of the series in Tampa, but the Rays brought left-handed starters to the hill for both of those contests. With a righty (Taj Bradley) on the mound for Tampa Bay on Wednesday, however, the lefty-hitting Tapia will draw into the starting nine for just the second time all season. Tapia looks like he could handle the larger side of a platoon with Refsnyder in center field while Duvall is out indefinitely.

Tapia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Though his absence from the starting nine comes as no surprise with the Rays starting a lefty opener (Jalen Beeks) and having another southpaw (Josh Fleming) follow him as a primary pitcher, the lefty-hitting Tapia could have a path to primary duties in center field in the short term after Adam Duvall (wrist) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. The righty-hitting Rob Refsnyder will man center field Monday and should at least continue to fill the short side of a platoon at the position.

Tapia came off the bench and launched a two-run home run in Saturday's blowout win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The homer came with a position player pitching for the Tigers, as Zack McKinstry gave up the two-run blast to the outfielder. It's the first homer of the season for Tapia, and his first as a member of the Red Sox after signing with the team during the offseason.

Tapia started in center field and went 1-for-3 in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Tapia made his first start of the season, filling in for the uber-hot Adam Duvall in center. Tapia's been used mainly as a pinch hitter early this season and remains a fourth outfielder. The former Rockies and Blue Jays outfielder is 2-for-5 with a walk and a run scored.

The Red Sox selected Tapia's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tapia won the team's final outfield spot. He'll have to perform in order to avoid being replaced by Jarren Duran.
