Toronto exercised Dolis' $1.5 million club option for 2021 on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old joined the Blue Jays after a successful stint in Japan, and he continued that success back in the majors with a 1.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB over 24 innings while recording five saves and seven holds. Dolis likely will enter spring training as the lead candidate for the closer's job next year.

Dolis picked up his fifth save of the season in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Yankees, giving up one hit and striking out three in 1.1 scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
He hadn't pitched in a week due to a sore right knee, but Dolis looked sharp in his return to the mound as he locked down the playoff-clinching victory for the Jays. Jordan Romano (finger) could rejoin the bullpen in the final days of the regular season, but the closer job heading into the postseason appears to belong to Dolis.

Dolis (knee) remains unavailable Tuesday against the Yankees, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dolis warmed up in the bullpen Monday and was expected to be available to make his return Tuesday, but he'll receive at least one more day to rest. He's still considered day-to-day as he deals with a right knee issue.

Dolis didn't suffer any structural damage to his right knee when he was injured Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dolis slipped on first base during Friday's contest and hurt his knee in the process, but he appears to have avoided a major injury. Manager Charlie Montoyo said that he's doing fine, but he likely won't be available to pitch Saturday. The right-hander is currently considered day-to-day.

Dolis walked one but also struck out a batter during a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to earn the save over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Dolis walked Brandon Nimmo to start the ninth but quickly ended any chance of a threat by getting Wilson Ramos to ground into a 5-4-3 double play. He then got Ahmed Rosario to chase strike three in the dirt for the apparent final out, but catcher Alejandro Kirk couldn't handle it cleanly and Rosario was able to reach first. However, Dolis subsequently caught Rosario cheating too far off the bag and was able to pick him off to end the game. Dolis converted all three of his save chances over the last week but may soon be pushed out of the closer role after Ken Giles (forearm) was activated off the 45-day injured list Friday.

Dolis allowed no baserunners and struck out two across one inning to earn the save Tuesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays turned to Dolis in the ninth inning to hold a 2-1 lead, and he did so with little trouble. It was his third save of the season, two of which have came in the past three games. Dolis appears to have moved ahead of Anthony Bass as the preferred closer, though his time there may be short lived with Ken Giles (forearm) continuing to move towards a return to the mound. Overall, Dolis has maintained a 1.77 ERA with a 24:11 K:BB across 20.1 frames.

Dolis struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save Sunday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Dolis was called upon to protect a two-run lead, and he slammed the door emphatically to earn his second save. His chance came one game after Anthony Bass allowed two runs (one earned) to blow a save opportunity. While Dolis is unlikely to completely take over the closer role as a result, he could figure into the closer picture until Ken Giles (forearm) is able to return.

Dolis (2-1) picked up the win in Thursday's extra-inning victory over the Red Sox, walking one and striking out three over 1.1 innings of relief.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander took over from Ryan Borucki to get the final out of the ninth inning, then slammed the door by striking out the side in the 10th after the Jays launched two homers in the top of the frame. Dolis has not allowed an earned run in 10 straight appearances, posting a 13:7 K:BB over 10.2 innings during that stretch and racking up two wins, a save and three holds. He's emerged as one of the team's most reliable high-leverage arms, but he remains behind Anthony Bass in the pecking order at closer with both Ken Giles (forearm) and Jordan Romano (finger) inching closer to returns from the IL.

Dolis recorded the save Wednesday in Baltimore after giving up one hit and one walk while recording three strikeouts during a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Anthony Bass has three saves with closer Ken Giles (forearm) on the injured list, but he may not have been available after throwing 29 pitches during his appearance Tuesday. Dolis has a 3.27 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB with one save and four holds through 11 outings this season, and he should continue to work in a setup role for the Blue Jays.

Dolis has been generating buzz in camp, primarily due to his sinker, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports. "He thew a couple sinkers that I haven't seen since I caught Doc. They were just unbelievable."
EDGE Analysis
Dolis was sidelined in spring training with an appendectomy, so he benefitted from the time off to fully recover. The Jays traded away a lot of their bullpen depth, so he could step into a significant role early on, and more so if the Jays trade closer Ken Giles before the deadline. He has spent the last three seasons pitching as a closer in Japan.
