The Red Sox acquired Priester from the Pirates on Monday in exchange for Nick Yorke, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boston won't have room in the rotation for Priester, but he'll supplement the organization's starting pitching depth. The 23-year-old right-hander hasn't shown much at the major-league level to this point, collecting a 6.46 ERA and 67:40 K:BB over 94.2 innings. However, Priester was a well-regarded prospect with a 3.50 ERA and 25.1 percent strikeout rate during his time at the Double- and Triple-A levels. He will report to Triple-A Worcester as he begins his time in the Red Sox organization.

Priester (2-5) allowed one earned run on three hits across two innings to earn the win Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Priester entered the game in the fourth inning after Mitch Keller struggled through his start. He wasn't dominant in the outing but did induce four groundball outs to earn his second win of the season. He's also pitched well in two outings since returning from the injured list, allowing three earned runs across eight innings with an 8:2 K:BB. Priester is still an option for the rotation out of the All-Star break with both Jared Jones (lat) and Bailey Falter (triceps) sidelined.

Priester (1-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings to earn the win over the Brewers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Priester worked behind opener Josh Fleming and delivered an excellent outing in his first big-league appearance since June 2. Priester threw 95 pitches (60 strikes), so there should be no concerns about his workload moving forward. The right-hander had struggled before landing on the injured list with a right lat injury. He's now at a 4.30 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB through 37.2 innings across seven outings (six starts) this year. If he stays on a regular schedule, he's projected to start against the White Sox on Sunday, though it's possible the Pirates play it safe with him since he's just returned from an injury.

The Pirates activated Priester (lat) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Priester has been shelved since June 6 due to a right lat injury, but after making a pair of rehab starts, Pittsburgh determined he was ready to rejoin the active roster. The 24-year-old completed five innings in his latest rehab outing and could take the spot of Jared Jones (lat) in the Pirates rotation, which would put him on track to start Sunday against the White Sox. Priester holds a 4.83 ERA across 31.2 innings with the Pirates this season.

Priester (lat) completed five innings while allowing one run on three hits and no walks with six strikeouts in a rehab outing with Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The outing was Priester's second rehab appearance, and he looks to be nearing a full workload. The Pirates' plans for him upon his activation from the 15-day injured list remain unclear, though he is a candidate to take the vacated rotation spot of Jared Jones (lat).

Priester (lat) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Priester has been on the injured list since June 6, but he has been given the green light to test his injured lat in a competitive setting. The Pirates haven't specified how many rehab outings the 24-year-old will need, but it's likely he returns from the IL before the All-Star break.

Priester (lat) completed a bullpen session Tuesday and could face live hitters next, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Priester has thrown off a mound twice since going on the 15-day IL on June 6, and assuming he didn't sustain a setback Tuesday, should face batters soon. While the 24-year-old should be activated from the 15-day injured list later this month, it's unclear if he'll stick with the Pirates or get optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates placed Priester on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right lat injury, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Priester allowed four earned runs in 4.2 innings during his latest start Sunday, and he appears to have come away from the game with lat problems. His move to the IL is retroactive to Monday, so the 24-year-old righty will be eligible for activation beginning June 18. In the meantime, Justin Bruihl, who signed a big-league contract with the Pirates on Thursday, will fill the open spot on Pittsburgh's pitching staff.

Priester (0-5) took the loss Sunday against Toronto, allowing four runs on eight hits and no walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After a roughly two-week stint at Triple-A Indianapolis, Priester was called up to fill Martin Perez's (groin) spot in the Pirates' rotation. While the 24-year-old didn't surrender a homer or a walk, he yielded four runs for a third time this season. Although Perez is set to miss at least two more starts, it's unclear if Priester did enough Sunday to be kept around. If Priester is awarded another start, it would likely come Saturday against the Twins at PNC Park.

Priester was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis and will start Sunday against the Blue Jays, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old will join Pittsburgh's rotation Sunday as the replacement for Martin Perez (groin), who landed on the injured list Tuesday. Priester has been decent in five starts for the Pirates this season with a 4.33 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB across 27 innings, and another solid outing Sunday could earn him a longer look in the rotation.
