Philip Humber (elbow) tossed six innings of one-run ball Thursday in a rehab start with Double-A Birmingham. Humber gave up just two hits while striking out five and walking none. He threw 48 out of 78 pitches for strikes and was perfect over his final four frames. The White Sox are expected to activate him from the disabled list for a start against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Philip Humber (elbow) is on schedule to rejoin the White Sox' rotation on July 17. Humber will make one more rehab start with Double-A Birmingham Thursday after his scheduled start Wednesday was rained out, and he'll then be activated if he doesn't have a setback. The righty will return to an ugly 6.01 ERA and will boot Dylan Axelrod from the rotation.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura expects Philip Humber (elbow) to make one more rehab start. Humber's results in his first rehab start weren't ideal, but he says his arm "feels great," and he thinks he'll be ready soon to rejoin the White Sox rotation. ''My fastball command was pretty much where I wanted it to be, and I threw sliders for the first time," Humber said. "I feel like I'm healthy. I don't know what the schedule is going to be now with the All-Star break.''

Philip Humber (elbow) allowed two earned runs in 2 1/3 innings Sunday in a rehab start at Triple-A Charlotte. Humber's struggles have now followed him to the minor leagues. He was placed on the disabled list June 17 with a right elbow flexor strain and won't be brought back to the majors until he proves capable of retiring batters. The right-hander threw a perfect game earlier this season against the Mariners but has an ugly 6.01 overall ERA.

Philip Humber (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte Sunday. Humber, who is nursing a right elbow flexor strain, isn't sure how many rehab starts he'll need. ''That's out of my pay grade now,'' Humber said. ''I don't really know. I'm just taking it one day at a time. [Trainer] Hermie [Schneider] is in charge in the training room.'' He seems likely to return by late July if all goes well.

Philip Humber surrendered four runs and nine hits in five innings Saturday in a victory over the Dodgers. Humber gave up six singles during the Dodgers' four-run third inning. He was pretty good the rest of the outing, so he'll probably keep his rotation spot for at least one more start. With the win tonight, he's 3-5 with a 6.01 ERA.

Phil Humber stumbled again in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday, giving up five runs on seven hits over five innings of work. He walked four and struck out three in the game. After delivering a strong performance against the Rays last week, Humber fell back off the train in this outing. He now sits at 2-3 with a 5.68 ERA on the season and has been a model of inconsistency in the White Sox rotation. He'll look to get back in the win column when he battles the Astros at home on Sunday.

Philip Humber held the Royals to one run on four hits in 6 2/3 innings of Sunday's loss. Humber struck out seven and walked three, but still couldn't pick up his first victory since his April 21 perfect game. The quality start was his second in three outings, however, while he bounced back nicely from a rough outing against the Indians last Monday. Humber has a solid matchup lined up for Friday afternoon, where he'll get the Cubs in Wrigley Field.

Philip Humber was pounded for eight runs in 2 1/3 innings by the Indians on Monday. We hope no one picked Humber up in mixed leagues after the perfect game on April 21. In three starts since, he has given up 20 runs in 13 1/3 innings, taking his ERA from 0.63 to 6.83.

Philip Humber was blasted by the Red Sox on Thursday to the tune of nine runs and eight hits in his five innings. It's been quite the week of mixed emotions for Humber. From his masterfully pitched perfect game on Saturday, to the birth of a child during the week, and now to a disaster against the Red Sox. He'll hope to rebound and get back on track when he takes on the Indians next week.
