Philip Humber (elbow) tossed six innings of one-run ball Thursday in a rehab start with Double-A Birmingham. Humber gave up just two hits while striking out five and walking none. He threw 48 out of 78 pitches for strikes and was perfect over his final four frames. The White Sox are expected to activate him from the disabled list for a start against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

''My fastball command was pretty much where I wanted it to be, and I threw sliders for the first time," Humber said. "I feel like I'm healthy. I don't know what the schedule is going to be now with the All-Star break.''

After delivering a strong performance against the Rays last week, Humber fell back off the train in this outing. He now sits at 2-3 with a 5.68 ERA on the season and has been a model of inconsistency in the White Sox rotation. He'll look to get back in the win column when he battles the Astros at home on Sunday.
