Lambert (2-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Rockies fell 4-2 to the Astros, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks over five innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
After a promising beginning to his big-league career, Lambert has now given up at least three runs in each of his last four starts, serving up eight homers with an 8:4 K:BB over 17.2 innings during that rough stretch. Three of those outings have been at Coors Field, but it still looks like the 22-year-old may need more minor-league seasoning. It remains to be seen whether he'll keep his rotation spot after the All-Star break, but even if he does, Lambert's leash is likely to be a short one.

Lambert allowed five runs on nine hits with no walks across 4.2 innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Dodgers. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Lambert allowed a pair of solo home runs in the second inning before conceding three more runs via the long ball in the fifth, when he was removed with two outs. His outing resembled that of Walker Buehler on the other side of this high-scoring affair and he's now allowed 16 earned runs across 12.2 innings over his last three starts. Lambert looks like a different pitcher than the one who impressed in his first two starts, so it remains to be seen if he holds onto his place in the rotation. If he does, he's in line for another tough matchup at home against the Astros.

Lambert didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Dodgers, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie avoided any big rallies but was tagged for single runs in the second, third and fifth innings before hitting the showers with the score knotted 3-3. Lambert will take a 5.85 ERA and 16:4 K:BB through 20 innings into his next start Thursday -- a rematch with the Dodgers back at Coors Field.

Lambert allowed eight runs on nine hits with three strikeouts across three innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Padres. He did not walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Lambert was hit early and often in this one and surrendered four extra-base hits while allowing runs in each of his three innings. He needed 69 pitches to complete his outing and was lifted prior to the fourth, which is unfortunate considering the Rockies had scored nine runs at the time. Lambert was much better in his first two starts, but he'll face another difficult matchup as he tries to bounce back in his next scheduled appearance on the road against the Dodgers.

Lambert (2-0) was the pitcher of record in Tuesday's 10-3 win over the Cubs after limiting the opposition to one run on three hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three in the 83-pitch outing.
EDGE Analysis
After an impressive showing against the Cubs in Chicago in his major-league debut last week, Lambert returned to action for the rematch at Coors Field. The right-hander was able to overcome the tough venue to roll to his second straight win, though he received a quick hook in part due to his spotty control, as he also hit two batters and threw a wild pitch in addition to issuing two free passes. Lambert's next turn will likely come at Coors Field on Sunday against the Padres.

Lambert is listed as the Rockies' probable starter for Tuesday's game against the Cubs in Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Given that the Rockies are perennially starved for quality rotation options, it was an easy decision for the club to give Lambert a second turn after he aced his big-league debut Thursday against this same Cubs squad. He worked seven innings in the winning effort, striking out nine while allowing only one run on four hits and one walk. That outing came in Chicago, however, so Lambert's fantasy managers will have to take more of a leap of faith in him while he picks up his first start in Coors Field in the rematch. Lambert will tentatively line up for his second start of the week Sunday against the Padres, which will also take place in Colorado.

Lambert (1-0) picked up the win against the Cubs on Thursday, giving up one earned run on four hits over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one in the Rockies' 3-1 victory.
EDGE Analysis
Making his big-league debut, Lambert was excellent, fanning nine batters and allowing just a single run before exiting the contest after seven innings and 95 pitches. The Rockies need an arm to step up with Kyle Freeland's early-season struggles landing him in Triple-A Albuquerque, and Lambert couldn't have done much more to show he should continue to be the one to fill that spot.

Lambert had his contract selected from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Cubs, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lambert is poised to make his big-league debut after posting a 5.07 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 51:16 K:BB in 60.1 innings with the Isotopes. While the 22-year-old righty has yet to put things together at the highest level of the minors, he could make a case to stick in the Rockies' rotation for more than one turn with a strong performance given the team's starting pitching struggles this season. To make room for Lambert on the roster, Mike Dunn (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day IL, while Harrison Musgrave (elbow) was shifted to the 60-day injured list.
