FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Phillies are interested in Peter Bourjos. Rosenthal notes that they have long been intrigued by Bourjos, but that they would want him as a backup "who could protect them against injury and provide above-average defense." The problem is that the Angels want young starting pitching in return, which the Phillies don't have. Rosenthal thinks they'll have to involve a third team in order to make a trade work.

Peter Bourjos' season-ending surgery to repair his injured right wrist on Tuesday was deemed a success. The 26-year-old outfielder hit .274/.333/.377 with three homers, 12 RBI and six stolen bases in just 175 at-bats. It was a disappointing campaign for a player many felt would break through in 2013. Bourjos will be fully recovered for spring training and might be a nice buy-low player in spring drafts.

Peter Bourjos won't hit for the rest of this season due to lingering discomfort in his right wrist. Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times tweets that Bourjos is "likely" to have surgery at some point to insert a pin into that fractured wrist. Bourjos will only be able to play defense and pinch-run down the stretch if the Angels opt to postpone the procedure. He can be dropped in all redraft-style fantasy leagues.

Peter Bourjos is not in the Angels' lineup Wednesday due to right wrist issues. Bourjos missed nearly seven weeks with a fractured right wrist before being activated last month, and it appears he never fully recovered. The Angels' medical staff is trying to get a handle on the issue before they determine what to do with the outfielder.

Angels activated OF Peter Bourjos from the 15-day disabled list. Tommy Field was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. With J.B. Shuck playing well in his absence, it will be interesting to see if Bourjos returns to a full-time role in center field, or if he'll once again have to compete for playing time.

Peter Bourjos (wrist) will not be activated from the disabled list on Monday as originally hoped. It's possible, though, that he could return sometime during the four-game series against the Yankees. Bourjos is still feeling pain in his right wrist but will attempt to play through it.
