The Nationals placed DeJong on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured nose, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeJong suffered the injury in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Pirates, when he was hit in the face by a Mitch Keller offering. If the fractured nose is the extent of his injuries, DeJong shouldn't be in line for an extended absence. Trey Lipscomb was recalled from Triple-A Rochester and will take over DeJong's spot on the 26-man active roster.

The Nationals are likely to place DeJong (face) on the 10-day injured list, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeJong was hit in the face by a pitch in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game versus the Pirates. There's no word yet on the specifics of his injuries, but he will need some down time. Trey Lipscomb is slated to take his roster spot and Amed Rosario is likely to see the bulk of the starts at third base while DeJong is out.

DeJong exited Tuesday's contest against the Pirates in the top of the sixth inning after being hit in the face by a pitch, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeJong was struck in the left side of his face by a 92.7 mph fastball from Mitch Keller, suffering a cut beneath his eye. The 31-year-old was subsequently removed from the game, and Amed Rosario replaced him in the contest. More information will likely be provided on DeJong's status in the near future.

DeJong is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a struggle for DeJong in the early going this season, as he's just 4-for-18 with 11 strikeouts. He'll get a day off to regroup while Jose Tena plays third base and bats eighth.

DeJong went 3-for-3 with two doubles in Sunday's win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
After an 0-for-6 start to his Nationals tenure with five strikeouts, DeJong broke out with two-baggers off Aaron Nola and Jose Ruiz. The veteran infielder is just a placeholder at third base for Washington, but he slugged 24 homers in 139 games last year between the White Sox and Royals and he could provide some thump from the bottom half of the order. DeJong isn't likely to do much more than that, however -- he's posted a strikeout rate north of 30 percent in each of the last three seasons, leading to a .205/.263/.372 slash line in 1,119 plate appearances.

DeJong went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder got hold of a Josh Hader offering in the third inning, giving DeJong his first long ball of the spring. Although he didn't sign with the Nationals until mid-February, DeJong is the favorite to be the team's Opening Day third baseman after slugging 24 homers in 139 games last season split between the White Sox and Royals, albeit with a mediocre .227/.276/.427 slash line. Prospect Brady House is having a strong start to camp however, and DeJong could simply be keeping the hot corner warm for the 21-year-old.

DeJong agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the Nationals on Sunday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jose Tena and Trey Lipscomb were set to compete for the starting role at third base during spring training for the Nationals, but DeJong may now be the favorite for the job. The 31-year-old played in 139 regular-season games with the White Sox and Royals last season and provided his typical low-contact, high-power production with 24 homers, a .227 average and a 32.4 percent strikeout rate.

DeJong is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
DeJong looks to have lost hold of a regular spot in the Kansas City infield, as he'll hit the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Reese Olson) for the fourth time in the last five games. Adam Frazier will enter the lineup at third base in place of DeJong, who is getting on base at a .154 clip with a 30.8 percent strikeout rate since the start of September.

DeJong isn't in the Royals' lineup Saturday versus Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
DeJong will sit for the second consecutive game after going 3-for-21 with an RBI and eight strikeouts to begin the month of September. Maikel Garcia will step in as Kansas City's third baseman and bat eighth.

DeJong is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
DeJong is out of the lineup for the third time in four games, with Adam Frazier slotting in at third base Friday. Since being dealt to Kansas City, DeJong has slashed .239/.294/.467 across 30 games. However, he's merely 3-for-19 in September.
