Weigel was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.

The pitching prospect carried his strong showing at Double-A into this season, as his ERA and WHIP sat at 2.89 and 1.16, respectively, prior to his promotion. Weigel also struck out over a batter per inning in his seven starts in 2017, so he'll look to carry this success into his time as a starter with Gwinnett.

Early returns at Double-A Mississippi last year were nice with a 2.18 ERA, but they came over just three starts. The 22-year-old will have more time to establish a true future value in reality and fantasy as he continues to work in the high minors in 2017.
