Sandoval will be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Monday at Cincinnati, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Sandoval was scratched from Saturday's start for Salt Lake and will instead make his way to the majors for his big-league debut. The 22-year-old was promoted to Triple-A in early May but has struggled in the Pacific Coast League with a 6.41 ERA, 1.98 WHIP and 66:35 K:BB through 60.1 innings.

Sandoval had a 2.06 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 145:29 K:BB over 122.1 innings last season as he worked his way from Low-A to the Double-A level by the end of the season. The 22-year-old had a 3.60 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 20 innings at Double-A Mobile this season, and has been a fast-rising prospect for the Angels since being acquired from the Astros for Martin Maldonado last July.

Sandoval was promoted to Double-A Mobile on Thursday.

Sandoval will make his debut for the BayBears on Thursday against the Biloxi Shuckers. The 21-year-old southpaw, who was acquired from the Astros in exchange for Martin Maldonado near the end of July, tossed 14.2 scoreless innings in three appearances for High-A Inland Empire before earning a promotion. Sandoval allowed just six hits and six walks while striking out 21 over that stretch.
